The University of Tennessee released its 2024 annual survey, The Impact of TennCare: A Survey of Recipients, which shows a record-high 96% satisfaction rate among families using TennCare for their children.

Nashville, TN -- TennCare, Tennessee’s Medicaid program, announces the awarding of grants to ten psychiatric hospitals across the state. Each hospital will receive $1.5 million annually for two years to support infrastructure improvements, workforce development, and enhanced clinical services to better care for child, adolescent, and adult TennCare members.

Bill Lee announced that TennCare, Tennessee’s Medicaid program, will provide 100 diapers per month for children under two who are enrolled in TennCare or CoverKids healthcare coverage, as part of Governor Lee’s Strong Families Initiative. Nashville, TN – Today, Congress passed legislation which will end the Medicaid continuous enrollment requirement related to the COVID-19 pandemic on April 1, 2023. At that time TennCare will be required to reverify the eligibility status of everyone receiving TennCare or CoverKids benefits. One of TennCare’s top priorities during this process is to make sure all eligible members do not risk a gap in health care coverage.

The Impact of TennCare: A Survey of Recipients, 2022, shows that 95 percent of TennCare recipients were happy with the program’s quality of care, marking the 14th straight year in which satisfaction with TennCare exceeded 90 percent. “The continued high satisfaction rate from our TennCare members reflects the strong partnership with our TennCare providers and our shared commitment to improve lives through high-quality, cost-effective care,” said TennCare director Stephen Smith.

NASHVILLE, TENN - Today, in response to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ June 30, 2022, letter, TennCare will begin the process of submitting Amendment #4 to the TennCare III waiver – an agreement that has been in effect and in operation since January 2021. The amendment process includes a public comment period from July 19 to August 19.

Nashville, TN – Beginning April 1st, 2022, the Division of TennCare will officially expand health care benefits for pregnant and postpartum TennCare members.* Health care coverage for women will expand from sixty days to twelve months after pregnancy, which is called “postpartum”.
