The Tennessee Department of Agriculture’s Division of Forestry (TDF) is offering a variety of tree and shrub seedlings for reforestation and conservation projects. The East Tennessee Nursery in Delano, Tenn. is accepting orders until April 15, 2022 while supplies last.

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture’s (TDA) Division of Forestry announces the promotion of Wade Waters to Assistant State Forester over fire management and emergency response operations. Waters has nearly 20 years of extensive experience in forestry and wildland fire management and has served as the Division of Forestry (TDF) fire chief since 2018. His skill and leadership earned him an Excellence in Service award from Governor Bill Lee in 2020.

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture’s Division of Forestry (TDF) will be accepting grant applications for the Hazard Mitigation Assistance Program beginning Aug. 9 and continuing through Sept. 10, 2021. Communities that have developed or are in the process of developing a Community Wildfire Prevention Plan (CWPP) will be eligible for funding to implement hazard mitigation assistance and education projects in their CWPP.

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture (TDA) today held a grand opening and tree planting ceremony for a new Division of Forestry work center on Natchez Trace State Forest in Wildersville, Tenn. Tennessee's state veterinarian confirms four horses in Tennessee have now tested positive for Potomac Horse Fever (PHF). Cases in Hawkins, Robertson, and Sullivan counties are in addition to the Wilson County case announced earlier this month where a horse was diagnosed with PHF and had to be euthanized.
