NASHVILLE—This month, the Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities will transition the last people out of Clover Bottom Developmental Center into new homes. Opened in 1923 as Clover Bottom Home and School for the Feeble Minded, this was the state’s first institution for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  At one point, the center was home to more than 1,500 people.  On November 5, we will recognize the role Clover Bottom played in caring for people with disabilities for 92 years.
