Guidelines for offering TREC-approved classroom courses via electronic streaming services:
- Students must be logged in and their identification verified by the proctor before the stated class start time. Check-in for class begins twenty (20) minutes before the stated class start time and ends once the class starts.
- Students must be visible on camera at all times.
- Students may not take phone calls during class. Instructors will provide time for breaks and lunch, if applicable. During these designated times, attendees may take care of personal calls, emails, etc. Attendees should not log out at any time during the class.
- Students may not participate in computer-based work while attending class.
- Students may not step away from the camera for any reason. If an emergency arises, students must use the “chat” feature to privately notify the proctor of their situation.
- Students are responsible for the performance of their own technology, including audio volume, video clarity, and reliable internet connection. All of which are required to successfully “attend” class.
- Students’ cameras must remain stable and unmoved during the course broadcast. Excessive camera movement is distracting and may result in the removal from class at the instructor's discretion.
- Students may not share a room with other students unless permission has been granted in writing from the provider.
- Providers must maintain a recording of the streamed course.
Selection Criteria: William C. "Bill" Tune, Jr. Award for Excellence in Education
In remembrance of its namesake and in order to ensure that this honor is awarded only to individuals who represent the highest ideals of dedicated service and professionalism in real estate education, the Tennessee Real Estate Commission adopts the following selection criteria applicable to nominees for the award:
- The Commission may decide not to issue an award during a year if it, at its sole discretion, determines that there is not a satisfactory nominee.
2. Nominations will be made by Commission members and/or staff.
3. It is suggested that nominees have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the real estate business or in a real estate education program. Nominees who have the ten (10) years of real estate experience should also have at least five (5) years of experience in real estate education. However, the real estate and real estate education experience specified is not mandatory. Nominators will, to their own satisfaction, determine whether the nominee meets the spirit of the ideals of this award.
4. Winners of this award will not be eligible for renomination.
ADOPTED BY THE COMMISSION JULY 2, 2014.
