Board members will not engage in an ex parte communication designed to influence their action with respect to a licensing or regulatory proceeding pending before or under consideration by the Board.
Eight of the nine voting Board members are appointed by the governor, who may appoint from lists of qualified persons submitted by representative state professional societies, and who shall consult with such societies in determining qualified persons to fill the positions.
Architect and Engineer Board members are appointed to represent each grand division of the state.
The landscape architect member and the interior design member represent the state at large.
The final voting member of The Board, the public member, is appointed directly by the governor and represents the state at large. [Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 62, Chapter 2, Section 62-2-201 (a)(b)].
Three non-voting associate engineer members are appointed by the governor to represent each grand division of the state. [Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 62, Chapter 2, Section 62-2-201 (c)]. The governor may appoint associate engineer members from lists of qualified persons submitted by representative state professional societies, and shall consult with such societies in determining qualified persons to fill the positions.
Board members serve four-year terms that expire at different times. Board officers are selected annually with terms running from July 1 through June 30 of the following year.
