Tuesday, March 31, 2020 | 01:01pm

NASHVILLE — The State of Tennessee’s response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is rapidly evolving, and Governor Bill Lee has called on all Tennesseans to work together to battle the spread of the virus, including employers and individuals alike. These are unprecedented events, and we ask for your patience as we work to protect your health and the health of the general public while ensuring that we continue to fulfill our mission and provide excellent customer service.

Effective immediately, Executive Order No. 17, dated March 22, 2020, is amended by Executive Order No. 21 and requires closure of non-essential businesses for public use, stating that these businesses shall not be open for access or use by the public or its members. Businesses or organizations that require close-contact personal services must close, and such businesses include, but are not limited to: barber shops, hair salons, waxing salons, nail salons or spas, or spas providing body treatments. This order is effective immediately and shall remain in effect until 11:59 p.m., Central Daylight Time, on Tuesday, April 14, 2020.

Please note that Executive Order(s) Nos. 17, 21, and 22 remain in full force and effect, requiring Ten-nesseans to abide by the President’s Coronavirus Guidelines for America, as well as guidance from the CDC. This guidance advises against social gatherings of ten (10) or more people and states the best way to prevent infection is to avoid being exposed to the virus by avoiding close, direct contact with others by maintaining a distance of at least six (6) feet distance between yourself and other people.

In addition, local county and city municipalities may have directives or mandates which provide for any additional restrictions. Please contact your local county or city authorities for any additional information.
