NASHVILLE – The Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFMO) congratulates members of its inaugural Fire Officer IV (FOIV) certification class, the highest level of fire officer training available to Tennessee firefighters. The history-making class at the Tennessee Fire Service and Codes Enforcement Academy includes Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Assistant Chief Kaye Jernigan, whose graduation from the class on Friday, March 2, 2018 makes her the first woman in Tennessee’s history to achieve the FOIV certification.
