Course Descriptors

The NENA Advanced Telecommunicator Certificate Course is comprised of three separate one-day offerings: Advanced Fire/EMS Dispatch, Enhanced Caller Techniques, and Advanced Police Dispatch.  Agencies may choose to attend all three days -OR- any single day offering.
If a student would like to obtain the NENA Advanced Telecommunicator Certificate, the student must attend ALL three days.
All single day registrations must be completed individually. See registration link for individual class descriptions.

Many districts are utilizing Esri’s Attribute Assistant to manage their OIRID sequences locally, and auto-populate data on creation. But what if you want to augment that setup or add new methods? This virtual presentation will review the backend tables, relationships, value methods and syntax for how to change the Attribute Assistant setup yourself. Offered once in person / virtually.

This class will present concepts and terminology related to 3D GIS along with demonstrations of the various ways of creating 3D data, including with the freely distributed building footprints. RapidSOS will present information about the Additional Data Repository, supplemented by how this data is geared to be digested in the GIS environment from True North. This offering will be heavily ArcGIS Pro-centric.

Determining appropriate staffing levels for a PSAP can be difficult. Even more challenging than that can be the task of justifying your findings before a personnel or budgeting authority. Without a detailed, formalized system in place that takes into account call volume and other PSAP-specific data, it is almost impossible to calculate your staffing needs and know if your center is adequately staffed at all times.

This hands-on workshop will have attendees using the NENA Communications Center Staffing Tool to determine your center's staffing needs at a high-level.  You will use a combination of facilitator-provided practice data as well as your PSAP's actual data to determine the staffing needs of your center.  Upon returning to your agency, you can further modify the tool with local data to provide a more accurate staffing assessment.

The NENA Center Training Officer (CTO) Program provides you with the proper framework to train your new employees, which leads to better performance and higher retention rates. The course covers proper documentation of performance, evaluation of performance, setting milestones, and developing a plan for trainee success. CTO software with the exclusive NENA Daily Observation Report template is provided by Agency360 Public Safety Software (agency360.com) for all attendees.

This course will give new supervisors the skills they need to succeed in their positions. It will give experienced supervisors updated, refreshed skills that will further their careers.

Using a combination of lecture and practical exercises, students will learn the supervisor’s role in HR, tools to get organized, how to effectively make the transition from line-level to supervisor, how to build and lead a team, supervisor-specific communications, conflict resolution, performance evaluations, stress management techniques, and many other skills, and tips for their toolbox.

Designed to instruct attendees on the use of the NENA Communications Center Staffing Tool, this hands-on workshop then has you using the Tool during the workshop to determine your center’s staffing needs at a high-level.
