**Effective 19 March 2026, AR 621-5 changes regarding Federal Tuition Assistance reflect the following:

1)  Commander/Supervisor approval now required for all FTA and CA requests.

2)  Soldiers with two recoupment actions in the same fiscal year will be suspended from requesting FTA* or CA for 12 months

3)  Commissioned officers (O1-O10) are no longer eligible for Credentialing Assistance

*if suspended from requesting FTA, Soldiers will be ineligible for STRONG Act tuition reimbursement for the same 12 months

Financial assistance provided for voluntary off-duty education programs in support of a Soldier's professional and personal self-development goals. 

The Army's Credentialing Assistance Program provides Soldiers with funding for more than 1,600 credentials.

A reimbursement program for TN National Guard Servicemembers to use in conjunction with FTA to pursue professional and personal self-development goals.

Helps qualified Veterans and their family members get money to cover all or some of the costs for school or training. 

Education support is available to all ARNG Soldiers. Education support helps Soldiers meet education goals by providing guidance, advice, and planning assistance.

Encompasses standardized tests used to determine eligibility for specialized training and to support the Army's personnel selection and classification process, including language proficiency testing.

Programs and services to assist service members
seeking to further their voluntary education goals and objectives.

Incentives available for non-prior service, prior service, and reenlistments.
