| Description | The Basic School Resource Officer (SRO) training course will satisfy the requirements of Tenn. Code Ann. 49-6-4217, which states SROs “shall participate in forty (40) hours of basic training in school policing within twelve (12) months of assignment to a school.” Specific curriculum topics will be provided at a later date. This course will be POST-approved. |

| Notes | Maximum class size is 75 students. Attendees will receive 3 meals per day. Lodging will be provided at Montgomery Bell State Park (1000 Hotel Ave, Burns, TN 37029) at no cost to the attendees’ agency. Check-in will be July 12, 2026, from 4-6pm with dinner and a welcome ceremony following. Final enrollment in the course will be determined by demand and availability. Restrictions may be placed on the number of attendees from individual agencies if demand exceeds available slots/offerings. TRAINING STARTS SUNDAY NIGHT (7/12/2026) AFTER CHECK-IN.
