| Description | This class is a 40 Hour instructor-level course that will cover domestic violence, the psychology of abuse, co-occurring issues (child abuse, child sexual abuse, animal and elder abuse), and response to domestic-related calls. Additionally, legal issues and updates, liability concerns, and how to improve search warrant updates will be covered. Report writing, trauma-informed practice, resources, and forensic considerations regarding investigations/ evidence preservation will also be taught. This course is designed to assist officers with the training of domestic violence, gender-based crimes, and related topics. |
