NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance (TDCI) will participate in Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center’s 9th Annual Senior Expo being held Friday, May 4th, 2018 at St. Luke CME Church. This free event is a one-stop shop for older adults with more than 30 vendors and resources being offered to attendees.

Representatives from TDCI’s Divisions of Consumer Affairs, Insurance, and Securities are included in the vendor lineup. They will provide attendees with information on consumer insurance services, insurance and investment fraud, and identity theft scam protection.

“We are proud to participate with our partners in this event in order to help protect seniors,” said TDCI Commissioner Julie Mix McPeak. “Outreach events like this one showcase our team and our work to better educate and inform Tennessee consumers.”

Senior protection is a mainstay of TDCI’s consumer advocacy programs. In addition to outreach events like Friday’s expo, TDCI also supports legislation that protects Tennesseans from the harmful consequences of scammers and deceitful business practitioners.
