TDCI Joins Lipscomb to Provide Shredding, Recycling Services

Consumers Can Recycle Items Not Accepted at Standard Recycling Sites

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance’s (TDCI) Division of Consumer Affairs is partnering with Lipscomb Academy to offer free document shredding at Lipscomb’s annual recycling event. The event, which is held to celebrate America Recycles Day, offers consumers the opportunity to safely dispose of unneeded items not accepted by standard recycling drop sites.

America Recycles Day is a national campaign that aims to raise awareness of recycling. There are over 2,800 recycle events planned around the nation in recognition of America Recycles Day.

Household items, electronic waste, medications, and other recyclables are among the items that will be accepted for recycling. Documents suggested for shredding include outdated credit card statements, utility bills, investment documents, tax forms, loan documents, medical records, insurance documents, employment documents and more.
