NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Athletic Commission welcomes the return of mixed martial arts competition to Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Saturday, April 22. The UFC event is the first mixed martial arts event held in Tennessee this year and only the second event held in Tennessee since  legislation modernized the Commission in 2015.

The Tennessee Athletic Commission is a division of the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance’s (TDCI) Division of Regulatory Boards, which regulates thousands of Tennessee professionals through its boards, commissions, and programs.

“Licensing by the Commission helps ensure greater safety for participants and spectators alike,” said TDCI Deputy Commissioner Brian T. McCormack. “We welcome the UFC back to Tennessee and look forward to future successful events in the years ahead.”

For Saturday’s event, 15 inspectors have been assigned to the bout while 26 combatants and eight ring officials have been licensed to participate.

“We are thrilled to return to Nashville for this weekend’s event featuring two of our rising stars in the featherweight division, Cub Swanson and Artem Lobov as well as local athletes Ovince Saint Preux, Dustin Ortiz and Scott Holtzman,” said Lenee Breckenridge, UFC Vice President of Communications. “We anticipate this event to be one of the highest-attended in the market for the organization as well as a night of action-packed fights.”
