TDCI & BBB Host March 2nd Investor Education Event in Nolensville

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance’s (TDCI) Securities Division is partnering with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Middle Tennessee to host a free investor education event for the Williamson County Family and Education Club at the Nolensville First United Methodist Church in Nolensville on Thursday, March 2, 2017.

“The Tennessee Securities Division is proud to partner with the BBB to offer this educational opportunity for investors,” said TDCI Assistant Commissioner for Securities Frank Borger-Gilligan. “Our goal with this outreach is to provide practical, current information to help Tennesseans evaluate an investment opportunity and avoid becoming a victim of fraud.”

Staff from both the BBB and TDCI will offer financial protection tips, provide role-playing scenarios to help investors avoid scams, and give out free educational information.

Staff from both agencies will discuss ways to keep your financial information from falling into the hands of scam artists. Educational items will be distributed to attendees to support topics discussed during the presentation. Lunch will be provided.
