State Fire Academy to Host TWRA’s<br />“Take Your Child Fishing” Rodeo

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) will hold its annual Ed Carson Memorial Free Fishing Day on Saturday, June 11 at the Tennessee Fire Service & Codes Enforcement Academy (TFACA) in Bell Buckle.

The yearly event normally draws over 300 Tennesseans to the lake on TFACA’s 330 acre campus in northern Bedford County. TWRA officials will stock over 400 pounds of catfish in the lake for the free youth fishing day open to children 4 to 15 years of age.

Who: The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA), the Tennessee Fire Service & Codes Enforcement Academy (TFACA), the Shelbyville Recreation Center, and the Southern Longbeards

What: Ed Carson Memorial Free Fishing Day. Children 4-15 years of age can fish for free, but must be accompanied by a non-fishing adult. Bring your own fishing gear (rod and reel).

When: 9 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. (CST) Saturday, June 11, 2016.
