NASHVILLE – The Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFMO) is raising awareness of the importance of home fire escape planning as part of consumers’ overall home fire safety plans during National Fire Prevention Week (October 6-12). This year’s theme is “Not Every Hero Wears a Cape. Plan and Practice Your Escape!” which educates consumers about the small but important steps they can take every day to keep themselves and those around them safe.

NASHVILLE – Over 100 newly certified law enforcement officers are slated to graduate from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy (TLETA) on Friday, Sept. 27, 2019. The graduation ceremony for TLETA Basic Law Enforcement School Class 1869 will be held at 11 a.m. (CT) at the Hermitage Hills Baptist Church (3475 Lebanon Pike) in Hermitage.

NASHVILLE – A Giles County man is serving 10 years in a state prison after pleading guilty to charges related to setting his daughter on fire in 2018 after the Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFMO) Fire Investigations Section disproved the man’s story.
