Report Complaints about the Tennessee Human Rights Commission

Tennessee Public Chapter 1127 provides that an online complaint form shall be available on this Office’s website for use by persons alleged to have been aggrieved by the Tennessee Human Rights Commission pursuant to its authority under Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 4, Chapter 21

Please note:  To file a discrimination claim, contact the Tennessee Human Rights Commission directly.  The Tennessee Human Rights Commission is an independent state agency which investigates allegations of discrimination in housing, employment, places of public accommodations and Title VI for state agencies.

To report a complaint about the Tennessee Human Rights Commission, please fill out an online complaint form

A written copy of the complaint form via the United States postal service is available upon request through THRCcomplaintssubmission@ag.tn.gov, by calling 615-741-3491, or by downloading here. Completed forms should be scanned and returned to email address: THRCcomplaintssubmission@ag.tn.gov or mailed to the Tennessee Attorney General, P.O. Box 20207, Nashville, TN 37202-0207.

It is important to note that the content of any complaint submitted may be forwarded in its entirety to the Tennessee Human Rights Commission for review and response. Be aware that submitted complaints are records open to the public under the Tennessee Public Records Act and as such are open to inspection by Tennessee citizens.
