State Plan

Volunteer Tennessee, Tennessee’s state service commission, is required by law to develop a three-year, comprehensive national and community service plan and establish State priorities. Volunteer Tennessee must develop and annually update this statewide plan for national service covering a three-year period that is consistent with the Corporation for National and Community Service’s broad goals of meeting human, educational, environmental, and public safety needs.

Volunteer Tennessee, the Governor’s commission on volunteerism and service, seeks public input to develop a new State Plan that will set the agency’s strategic direction for the next three years.  Once developed, the new State Plan will advocate service and volunteerism as strategies to meet critical community needs, including service through programs funded under National Service laws.
