Tennessee Wildlife Federation, one of the largest and oldest independent nonprofits dedicated to conserving the state’s wildlife and natural resources, wants to teach the next generation how to hunt.

Learn the art of turkey hunting with Tennessee Wildlife Federation’s Hunting and Fishing Academy. This three-day hunt provides engaging, hands-on instruction in the art of being an outdoorsman to first-time and novice youth hunters and their parent. By the end of the weekend, you’ll have everything you need to go again on your own.

For hunters, this includes step-by-step, practical sessions on topics such as reading the land, understanding species’ habits and patterns, ethical hunting and harvesting practices, field safety, wildlife conservation principles, and more.

Because the most valuable part of any activity is sharing it with others, bonding with family and friends is central to every Hunting and Fishing Academy experience. Parents are participants, learning and doing right alongside youth hunters so they are prepared to get into the great outdoors as a family.

The Academy experience is made complete each evening with fireside chats—a time of reflection and sharing that begins the transformation of hunting and fishing from an activity to a tradition.
