  • Annual Youth Quail Hunt

    March 6, 2021, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm EST

    On March 6, 2021 the Smoky Mountain Quail Forever Chapter and TWRA will sponsor a quail hunt at the McGhee-Carson Unit of the Tellico Lake WMA. This hunt will be for youth hunters ages 10 to 16 that have passed a Hunter Safety class. The hunt will start at 8:00AM and continue until afternoon. Each hunter will need to be accompanied by a non-hunting adult. Because of time and space, the hunt will be limited to the first 50 registered participants.

    All registrants for this event must be 9 years of age by Monday, Mar 08, 2021. The course is offered free of charge to anyone interested regardless of age; however, you must be nine years of age or older in order to become a certified hunter education graduate.

  • Virtual Class - Bow Fishing Basics

    March 11, 2021 - February 11, 2021

    Join bowfisherman Wesley Jones as he discusses a sport that is gaining popularity on Tennessee's waterways. Topics of discussion include: getting started, different gear, the effect that carp have on bass beds, courtesy, growing the sport of bowfishing, numerous opportunities due to accessibility of public waters, the tournament aspect of bowfishing, and the attractiveness of bowfishing to women and children.
