Director Hill Appointed to NARUC Committee

TRA DIRECTOR HILL APPOINTED TO NARUC SPECIAL COMMITTEE

Nashville, Tennessee – Tennessee Regulatory Authority (TRA) Director Kenneth C. Hill has been appointed by the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) to serve as a Co-Vice Chairman of the Committee on International Relations. With a focus on the energy sector, the Committee "manages NARUC's outreach activities across the globe, including maintaining partnerships with numerous countries in Eastern Europe, Africa, and Bangladesh."

"Director Hill’s energetic leadership of this Committee is important to the cause of strengthening effective public regulation," says NARUC President Lisa Edgar.

"Energy issues, both domestic and globally, are in the news on a near daily basis," says Director Hill. "And it is an honor to be selected to serve as a Co-Vice Chairman of this very important Committee."

Founded in 1889, NARUC is a non-profit organization dedicated to representing the State public service commissions who regulate the utilities that provide essential services such as energy, telecommunications, water, and transportation. Its mission is to serve the public interest by improving the quality and effectiveness of public utility regulation. NARUC's members include all fifty States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
