NEW UPDATES-Read first: ALL SCHOOLS APPROVED FOR THE GI Bill® (GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)) must follow the following instructions prior to submitting catalog for continuing approval. If these requirements are not followed, the catalog will be sent back for further updates.
ALL CATALOGS MUST include the following statement
Any covered individual will be able to attend or participate in the course of education during the period beginning on the date on which the individual provides to the educational institution a certificate of eligibility for entitlement to educational assistance under chapter 31 or 33 (a “certificate of eligibility” can also include a “Statement of Benefits” obtained from the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) website – eBenefits, or a VAF 28-1905 form for chapter 31 authorization purposes) and ending on the earlier of the following dates:
1. The date on which payment from VA is made to the institution.
2. 90 days after the date the institution certified tuition and fees following the receipt of the certificate of eligibility.
(School Name) will not impose any penalty, including the assessment of late fees, the denial of access to classes, libraries, or other institutional facilities, or the requirement that a covered individual borrow additional funds, on any covered individual because of the individual’s inability to meet his or her financial obligations to the institution due to the delayed disbursement funding from VA under chapter 31 or 33.
SAA Forms: All SAA forms (1-4) can be found under Supporting Documents
When filling out SAA 1 and 2 forms, ALL CURRENT PROGRAMS OF STUDY MUST BE COMPARED TO THE MOST RECENT WEAMS 22-1998. EVERY ACTIVE program of study listed on the 22-1998 MUST be listed on the SAA 1 or 2 form. Every program MUST provide the program’s most current status (continuing, new, teach out, withdrawn). Any changes to the programs listed on the 22-1998 must include the effective date of the change. All withdrawn programs must be included and listed toward the bottom of the list on the SAA forms. If this protocol is not followed, the form will be returned to you for revision. If the required revision is not returned to our office in a timely manner, your school’s ability to certify students to the VA will be negatively impacted.
