Phase II: Educate
TennCare will be in Phase II until April 1, 2023, when renewals begin. Phase II will increase public communication to alert members that renewals will begin soon and continue to encourage members to create TennCare Connect accounts and to provide updated contact information, including their name, address, phone number, and email address to TennCare. Updating contact information will help members stay informed and receive important information about keeping their TennCare and CoverKids benefits.
Members can update their information on TennCare Connect by accessing their online account at TennCareConnect.TN.gov, by calling 1-855-259-0701, or by using the TennCare Connect app.
Our health plans, community partners, and providers are critical messengers. They are trusted leaders in their communities and have frequent interactions with members. These stakeholders can help reach at-risk or hard-to-reach members. Our goal in Phase II is to help members remember to open all mail from TennCare and continue to update all contact information.
- Stay informed: Join our email list to get the latest information and updates.
Providers and advocates can help our members take steps to get ready by making sure TennCare members receive important paperwork. Help us make sure that a member’s mailing address and phone number is up-to-date. Members can make updates:
- Online at TennCareConnect.tn.gov
- Calling TennCare Connect at 1-855-259-0701
- Through the TennCare Connect app (Download on the App Store) (Get it on Google Play)
Review your TennCare Access Portal account before renewals begin, and reach out if you have any questions.
The TennCare Access Portal helps TennCare provider organizations and facilities assist their clients with health care coverage through TennCare and CoverKids. Depending on the type of provider you are (Hospital, the Department of Health, Nursing Facility, or Health Plan), and your TennCare-approved access, you can submit applications for presumptive eligibility, add newborns to a mother’s case, submit admission or discharge forms for long-term care, complete financial reassessments for Institutional Medicaid, complete annual renewals, or apply for TennCare Medicaid, CoverKids, and a Medicare Savings Program. Partners may use the MyTennCare Partner Portal to complete actions on behalf of their clients.
