Hurricane Helene TennCare Notices
On September 26 and 27, 2024, severe weather, including rainfall and flash flooding, affected significant portions of the State of Tennessee and the lives and property of Tennesseans. On September 27, 2024, Governor Lee issued Executive Order No. 105, declaring a major disaster and state of emergency, encouraging state agencies to work with persons adversely affected and to take these circumstances into account with respect to providing services.
TennCare is committed to Tennessee’s response and recovery from Hurricane Helene. In response to the severe weather and the executive order, TennCare is working with stakeholders to ensure providers and members have the necessary TennCare resources and services.

TennCare Pharmacy Program Flexibilities
Temporary procedures have been deployed to ensure members continue to receive their medications at pharmacies in the impacted counties. For more information on these flexibilities, please refer to our pharmacy bulletin.

Long Term Services and Supports Flexibilities
Temporary procedures have been deployed to ensure members in the affected counties continue to receive long term services and supports. For more information on these flexibilities, please refer to our LTSS Memo.
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approved a waiver requested as part of Tennessee’s 1135 Emergency Waiver application pertaining to the Hurricane Helene public health emergency. Please see the attached memorandum which provides information regarding PASRR Flexibilities for those counties impacted by Hurricane Helene.
