Severe Weather Update

Overnight, the State of Tennessee was impacted by a line of severe storms that included high winds, flash flooding, and some tornadoes. The State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) is monitoring damage reports and assisting county and state departments with response and recovery to these incidents. Some areas are experiencing power outages and loss of cell phone signal. Franklin, Grundy, Lawrence, Rutherford, and Knox counties have reported the greatest impacts.

The State Watch Point will continue to monitor social media for damage reports and TEMA District Coordinators will be assisting local, state, and federal partners in storm damage surveys and damage reports. TEMA Regional Offices are also assisting in the intake of damage reports and other local assistance. The SEOC’s current focus is on gathering damage assessment information, monitoring statewide power outages, monitoring election polling locations, and supporting local government requests for resources and support.
