Flash Report #1 Explosion in Hickman County

Highlights

Current Situation

On October 10, 2025, an explosion occurred at Accurate Energetic Systems in the Bucksnort area of Hickman County. This privately owned industrial facility processes, not manufactures, ammunition and explosives for various clients. The incident prompted an immediate response from local emergency services. 

At the request of the Hickman and Humphreys emergency management agencies, the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency has deployed District Coordinators and is continuing to coordinate with local officials to fulfill any requests. TEMA is actively monitoring the situation and remains in communication with local, state, and federal partners.  

At this time, there is no known continuing threat to public health or safety because of the explosion. The scene remains active, and the public is urged to avoid the area to allow emergency responders to operate safely. 

Accurate Energetic Systems has established a Family Assistance Center to support families impacted by the incident. The center is intended to provide information, resources, and emotional support.

No confirmed information is currently available regarding injuries or fatalities. Additional details will be provided as they are verified. 

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has established a hotline (1-800-TBI-FIND/1-800-824-3463) to coordinate reports of missing persons. Callers should be prepared to relay information. 

Tennessee Department of Health

The Tennessee Department of Health has not reported any fatalities or injuries. 

Tennessee Highway Patrol

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is assisting with law enforcement duties as needed.
