A public hearing was held on September 24, 2013. The purpose of the hearing was to provide a project update, including notification the Federal Highway Administration’s intention to file a Determination of Section 4(f) de minimis1 use related to minor project impacts to recreational use trails within the Shelby Farms Park.

A public hearing was held December 13, 2007. The purpose of the public hearing was to allow the public the opportunity to review the Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (DSEIS), which was approved on October 18, 2007, and to ask questions or make comments. Comments and questions from the public hearing are summarized and answered in Section V.E. of the Supplemental Final Environmental Impact Statement (SFEIS), which can be viewed in the Library section of this project website.

Two public meetings were held March 24, 2005, and November 15, 2005.

Eight resource team meetings were held between April 28, 2005, and July 31, 2008. The Shelby Farms Parkway Advisory Team (SFPAT) was formed to act as a collective body representing opinions of both experts and public stakeholders. The team’s integration throughout the project’s development falls under a concept known as Context Sensitive Solutions (CSS). CSS places emphasis on affected parties and acknowledges their contributions to the process. The team established goals and recommendations for the proposed parkway. Many of those ideas influenced the outcome of the Selected Alternative.
