Timeline

Transportation projects are developed in four phases: Planning and Environmental, Design, Right-of-Way (ROW) and Construction. The improvement project for the interchange of Interstate 40 at State Route 186 (US 45 Bypass/Keith Short Bypass), including the intersection of State Route 186 and Casey Jones Lanes/Carriage House Drive, and the interchange of Interstate 40 at State Route 5 (US 45/North Highland Avenue) is currently in the Construction phase.

In an effort to accommodate current traffic volumes and minimize impacts to motorists during construction, the following provisions have been made for the project.

• Business access will be maintained at all times.
• At least two lanes of travel will remain open in each direction on I-40, SR 186, and SR 5.
• SR 186 (US 45 Bypass) will be reconstructed first.
• SR 5 (North Highland Avenue) interchange will not be affected until the bypass construction is completed.
