Hawkins County


Transportation projects are developed in four phases: Planning and Environmental, Design, Right-of-Way (ROW), and Construction. The proposed improvements to State Route 31, between US 11W (State Route 1) and Adams Lane, are currently in the Design phase. The following is a reflection of various aspects of the phases as they have occurred or will occur for the project.

The Right-of-Way phase has been identified for funding in FY2020, with appraisal and acquisition forecasted to begin in fall 2020 and expected to take 18 to 24 months to complete.

The Construction phase has not yet been identified for funding, and an exact timeline is not currently available.
