Timeline

Transportation projects are developed in four phases: Planning and Environmental, Design, Right-of-Way and Construction. Proposed improvements to State Route 115 (US 129/Alcoa Highway), from south of Maloney Road to Woodson Drive, are currently under construction.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATES

April 23, 2019

Completed Activities: Roundabout #1 and #2 are installed and open to traffic.  New alignments for collector #1, Dresser Road, South Circle, and East/West Ginn are complete.  Retaining walls #1,
2, 3, 4, 6, 9, and 10 are complete.  The box culvert extensions at station 12+600 RT and 10+600 LT/RT are complete. All stream encapsulations are in place. All proposed sewer is installed. The contractor has paved both sides leading up to bridge #1 thru binder courses. All of the concrete beams for Bridge #3 have been set.  Crews have placed binder courses along outside NB & SB lanes of Alcoa from the beginning of the project thru Dresser Road and temporary Maloney Road accesses. Median drainage work to encapsulate the spring under Alcoa Highway is complete.  

Current Activities: The contractor plans on opening the Bridge #1 to vehicular traffic in the next two weeks. Crews are adding fill and grading at Bridge 2 on Mt Vernon for collector #5. Bridge #2 bent column is under construction.  Crews are working on curb and gutter along Collector #5.

Wall #8:  Hayward Baker continues installing soil and rock anchors for Wall #8. All piles have been installed. The contractir is installing wood lagging and forming and pouring the concrete face.
