Transportation projects are developed in four phases: Planning and Environmental, Design, Right-of-Way (ROW) and Construction. The planned improvements for the intersection of State Route 1 (US 11 / Kingston Pike) at Watt Road are currently in the Construction phase.

Lane Closures
Lane closures and lane shifts are expected with project area during construction; however, at least three lanes of travel will be maintained at all times along Kingston Pike and two lanes will be maintained at all times along Watt Road. Motorists are urged to use caution and be aware of changing road conditions in the work zone.

Final paving along Watt Road, Business Tract, and Kingston Pike. Final pavement marking installation. Finishing the installation of sod and permanent signage. Cleanup and final inspection.

Currently activities include installation of proposed signal system and curb ramps. North Watt Road and Kingston Pike will experience temporary night-time lane closures for paving operations. Final configuration at the intersection will be achieved after paving operations are complete.

Currently activities include installation of proposed signal system, installation of sidewalks and curb ramps, and installation of sod along North Watt Road and Business Tract. North Watt Road and Kingston Pike will experience some temporary night-time lane closures to install the new signal system. During the daytime hours, motorists will experience traffic shifts. Proposed curb ramps continuing to be installed at the intersection. The South Watt Road business tract will be opened nexy month and the entrance to Dixie Lee Liquor Store will be closed to install proposed sidewalk.
