Current activities include the installation of median on Northbound ramp, paving activities on SR 162, Hardin Valley Road and ramps, and permanent signage installation. Existing ramps, Hardin Valley Road, and SR 162 will experience lane closures during day-time and night-time hours to accommodate paving operations. New signal finalization at the two intersections along Hardin Valley Road. To accommodate the signal finalization, Hardin Valley Road will experience night-time lane closures between the hours of 7PM-6AM.

Motorists can utilize the new ramp to access SR 162 northbound. In the weeks to come the existing ramps and Hardin Valley Road will experience traffic shifts during day-time hours. Lane closures will occur between the hours of 7PM-6AM on the ramps and Hardin Valley Road. The construction of median islands along Hardin Valley Road and the existing ramps are proposed to be finished late July. Hardin Valley will experience a traffic shift during this construction, but will maintain at least two lanes of traffic.

Current activities include the pavingand widening of existing ramps, the new ramp, and Hardin Valley Road. Sinkhole repair continues along the existing northbound off ramp. Installation of new proposed signal poles continues. Existing ramps and Hardin Valley Road will experience traffic shifts during day-time hours. Lane closures will occur between the hours of 7PM-6AM on the ramps and Hardin Valley Road. The construction of median islands along Hardin Valley Road and the existing ramps are proposed to be finished in late June. Paving of new ramp, existing ramps, and widened section of Hardin Valley Road has begun and will continue into next month. Motorists will be able to utilize the new northbound on-ramp and extension of existing ramps starting late June.

To date, the contractor has been able to install traffic control measures, clear and grub, extend a majority of phase 1 box and pipe culverts as well as complete a substantial portion of the water and sewer relocations as well as begin grading activities. For the foreseeable future, the contractor intends to continue the water and sewer relocations, and continue grading operations. Existing ramps and Hardin Valley Road will experience traffic shifts during daytime hours. Lane closures will occur between the hours of 7 PM-6 AM on the ramps and Hardin Valley Road. The construction of the soil nail wall along Hardin Valley Road has been completed. Paving of new Ramp will begin within the next month, and motorists will be able to utilize this ramp when heading north to Oak Ridge.

The construction of safety walls along existing ramps is proposed to be finished by late March. The construction of the soil nail wall along Hardin Valley Road is proposed to be finished late March. Paving of new Ramp will begin within the next month, and motorists will be able to utilize this ramp.

The construction of the soil nail wall along Hardin Valley Road is proposed to be finished mid-February. Paving of new Ramp will begin within the next month, and motorists will be able to utilize this ramp when head-ing north to Oak Ridge.

Current activities include vcnstruction of walls on existing ramps, construction of on/off ramps from SR 162 to Hardin Valley Road, and installation of new proposed signal poles.
Existing ramps will experience traffic shifts during day-time hours. Some lane closures will occur be-tween the hours of 7PM-6AM on the ramps. Hardin Valley Road will continue to experience lane closures between the hours of 7 PM-6 AM to continue necessary work. During day-time hours, these areas will contain traffic shifts while soil nail wall.

Current activities include pipe installation along Charlevoix Road and Hardin Valley Road, construction of the on and off ramps from SR 162 to Hardin Valley Road, and construction of the wall under the SR 162 bridge between the eastbound and westbound sides of Hardin Valley Road.
Upcoming activities include the reopening of Charlevoix Road on or before October 23, 2020, and the installation of signals at the two intersections along Hardin Valley Road. Hardin Valley Road will continue to experience lane closures between the hours of 7pm and 6am. During daytime hours, these areas will contain traffic shifts while concrete medians and crash walls are being installed. Pellissippi Parkway will experience a traffic shift along the Parkway, but will still maintain two traffic lanes in both directions.
September 17, 2020
Charlevoix Road (between Weigel’s and shopping center) has been closed longer than anticipated in lieu of utility conflicts. Currently, all utilities have been relocated, and pipe installation will begin Monday, September 21. The road will remain closed through next week, Friday, September 25, as pipe installation resumes and paving of the road can be completed.
Work continues along Hardin Valley Road under the SR 162 bridge. A traffic shift is in place, maintaining two traffic lanes during daytime hours for normal functionality. Pellissippi Parkway and Hardin Valley Road will continue to have lane closures during the hours of 7pm-6am starting September 21. These roads will experience a traffic shift during daytime hours but will still have two traffic lanes maintained in each direction.
September 4, 2020
Hardin Valley Road and the current on/off ramps will continue to experience lane closures between 7pm and 6am. During daytime hours, all lanes will be open as normal. Clearing activities along Pellissippi Parkway will begin on Saturday, September 12 between 6am and 12 noon. These activities will take place on future Saturdays TBD. A detour will be set up in place during these closures.

Lane shifts will still be continuing at night for the next week or so.
The southbound ramp at the intersection of Hardin Valley Road at Solway Road will be experiencing a small shift in order for the contractor to do shoulder/outside work on the ramp but there will still be one lane maintained in each direction of the ramp, as well as the left turn lane at the signal.
Charlevoix Road will remain closed through next week for utility work.
August 10, 2020
The right lane on Hardin Valley Road will be closed in each direction August 16-20 from 7pm-6am. The left lane on Hardin Valley Road will be closed in each direction August 23-27 from 7pm-6am.
Charlevoix Road (access road used to enter/exit Weigel's) will be closed from August 17-22 in order to lay a stormwater drain that is to be installed along that roadway and Hardin Valley Road. There will also be a detour set up in place for traffic to utilize the traffic light at Cherahala to still be able to access the shopping center from Charlevoix Road. The Weigel's entrance/exit on the westbound side of Hardin Valley Road will still be easily accessible for commuters to utilize.
