TDOT to Reopen Public Comment Period For Choice Lanes on I-24

Nashville, Tenn. — The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will reopen the public comment period for the proposed I-24 Southeast Choice Lanes project for an additional 15 days.

During the month of October, the Department hosted three in-person public information meetings and a virtual public meeting for the proposed I-24 Southeast Choice
Lanes project. The public comment period associated with those meetings opened on September 30 and closed on October 23, 2025.

The Department received substantial feedback on the proposed project as well as a request to extend the public comment period – something TDOT often receives and
grants. In response to the continued interest expressed by the public in the proposed project and the recent refinements to the project scope and proposed build and
no-build alternative under consideration in the Environmental Assessment, pursuant with supporting NEPA regulations (23 CFR 771.111 and 23 USC 139(f)), TDOT will accept additional comments from November 5-19, 2025.

During the reopening of the comment period, the public is welcome to visit the virtual public meeting on the project website beginning November 5 and submit their comments on any aspect of the proposed project.

About the Project:

The proposed project would construct new, optional Choice Lanes on approximately 26 miles of I-24 between Nashville and Murfreesboro in Davidson and Rutherford
counties. The proposed I-24 Southeast Choice Lanes project would increase capacity, improve travel times, and address limited funding to accelerate project delivery.

Persons with a disability, who require aids or services to participate in the meeting, may contact TDOT ADA Coordinator Shanna Chevalier no less than 10 days prior to
the date of the meeting at Shanna.Chevalier@tn.gov or by phone at (615) 741-0465, TTY Relay (877) 831-0298.
