Weekly Roadway Activity Report for TDOT Region 2 (Aug. 15 - 21, 2019)

DISTRICT 27

CUMBERLAND COUNTY I-40 Construction of a truck climbing lane EB near MM 339, including grading, drainage, and paving: Construction signs, guardrail (westbound), and portable barrier rail (eastbound) have been installed. The contractor has begun grade work in the median behind portable barrier rail. Motorists are encouraged to slow down, use caution, and be aware of construction personnel in the work zone and equipment that will entering/exiting the roadway. Estimated project completion date is June 2020.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-1 (US-70) Emergency slope stabilization near LM 26.6: Construction signs, portable barrier rail, and temporary traffic signals have been installed. SR-1 (US-70) will be reduced to one lane between Godsey Road and Renegade Mountain Parkway while the slope is being stabilized. Motorists should exercise caution as they travel through the work zone.  Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-1 (US-70) Resurfacing from east of Pomona Road (LM 8.89) to west of SR-24 (US-70N) (LM 13) and on SR-28 (US-127) from south of Sawmill Road (LM 8.9) to north of SR-392 (LM 12.74) and on SR-392 from north of Old Mail Road (LM 1.9) to SR-28 (US-127) (LM 2.78): Construction signs have been installed. Remaining work on SR-1 (US-70S) includes the installation of permanent pavement markings, rumble stripes, and shoulder stone. The contractor will be milling and paving on SR-28 (US127) and SR-392 (Miller Avenue). Flaggers will be used for temporary lane closures. Motorists can expect delays during the ongoing paving activities and should be alert for construction personnel/equipment working on the roadway.  Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-101 (Peavine Road) Grading, drainage, and paving from Firetower Road to Westchester/Catoosa Boulevard: As grade work progresses, motorists should be alert for shifts in traffic patterns to allow for construction activities. The posted speed limit has been reduced from 45 MPH to 35 MPH within the work zone. Temporary lane closures may be needed to support ongoing work. Lane and/or road closures may be needed within Fairfield Glade to allow installation of storm drain and relocation of utilities. Motorists should reduce speeds on Peavine Road and be alert for construction personnel/equipment entering and exiting the roadway.  Estimated project completion date is November 2020.

DEKALB COUNTY TDOT Contractor on SR-96 (DALE RIDGE RD.) in both directions from LM 12.8 to LM 13.2: The US Corp of Army Engineers will close one lane daily from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. to install a cross drain. Flaggers will be present during lane closure hours. Motorists should use caution and expect short delays. Project completion date is 08/29/19.

FENTRESS COUNTY Rotten Fork Road over Rotten Fork of the Wolf River Bridge Replacement: The contractor is currently working on the new bridge at Rotten Fork Road at LM 0.135. Rotten Fork Road remains open to traffic while the new bridge is being constructed. Motorists are advised to use caution and watch for construction equipment adjacent to roadway. Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

FENTRESS COUNTY SR-28 (US-127) Resurfacing from south of Davis Road to north of SR-52 and from north of Lacy Road to north of Mustang Lane: The contractor is scheduled to be on site removing existing pavement markings and installing construction signs to prepare for upcoming resurfacing work. The contractor will have SR-28 reduced to one lane in each direction to perform this work. During this operation, flaggers will be used to facilitate traffic flow around the work zone. Motorists are encouraged to obey posted speed limit signs and watch for construction personnel and equipment in the roadway. Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

FENTRESS COUNTY Vines Ridge Road over Big Laurel Creek Bridge Replacement: Vines Ridge Road remains closed at LM 1.06 and will remain closed until the new bridge is constructed and in place. Approximate date for the length of closure is 08/31/19. Motorists should seek alternate route around Vines Ridge Road near the location of construction. Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

FENTRESS AND OVERTON COUNTY SR-85 Emergency slide repairs at various locations: The roadway is closed from LM 18.4 to LM 22.4 in Overton county. SR-85 is also closed in Fentress County between LM 5.75 and 8.00. The contractor is continuing work on this contract in the two areas listed where the roadway is closed. Motorists are encouraged to use caution and seek alternate routes. Estimated project completion date is January 2020.

JACKSON COUNTY Utility Work on SR-56 (JENNINGS CREEK HWY.) in both directions from LM 23.57 to LM 24.38: Mobile lane closures for utility work will occur on Jennings Creek Hwy between Hwy 151 and Ward Fork Road. Signage and flaggers will be present during this work. Motorists should use caution. Work will begin 08/19/19 and is expected to continue through 09/13/19 between 9AM and 3PM.

JACKSON COUNTY SR-53 Resurfacing from the Smith County line (LM 0) to north of New Salem Road (LM 9.02), including repair of the bridge over Flynn's Creek (LM 7.84): The contractor is currently on site performing paving operations. During paving, the contractor will use flaggers to reduce the roadway to one lane for the duration of the project. Motorists are encouraged to obey posted speed limit signs and watch for construction equipment in the roadway. Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

JACKSON AND PUTNAM COUNTY SR-53 Resurfacing in Jackson County from north of SR-135 to the Clay County line and on SR-56 from north of US-70N (SR-24) in Putnam County to north of Old Creek Road in Jackson County: The contractor is continuing paving operations. The contractor will have the roadway reduced to one lane and will utilize a flagging operation to facilitate traffic flow while the work is performed. Motorists are encouraged to use caution through the work zone and watch for equipment and personnel present. Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

OVERTON COUNTY Utility Work on SR-52 (GARRETT-MAYNORD HWY.) in both directions from LM 9.32 to LM 9.32: Temporary lane closures for utility work will occur on Celina Hwy between Allred Street and Fairview Lane. Message board, signage, and flaggers will be present during this work. Motorists should use caution. Work will begin 08/15/19 and is expected to last through 08/16/19 between 9AM and 3PM.

OVERTON COUNTY SR-111 Miscellaneous safety improvements at the intersections of SR-293 (LM 3.1 and LM 3.2): The contractor currently has SR-111 from the LM 2.25 to the 3.75 reduced to one lane in each direction. This lane closure will remain in place until contract completion. In addition to the lane closure, the speed limit through the work zone has been reduced to 55 MPH for the safety of the motoring public and the contractor's personnel. SR-293 is affected at the intersection of SR-111 with the median crossings being closed for the duration of the project. Motorists are encouraged to obey the 55 MPH speed limit and watch for construction operations adjacent to the roadway.  Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

PUTNAM COUNTY I-40 near MM 296 Bridge repair on Rocky Point Road over I-40: Rocky Point Road bridge at LM 9.31 over I-40 is closed due to bridge repairs and will re-open November 2019. A detour is in place to guide motorists around the bridge closure. No lane closures are anticipated on I-40 during this period. Motorists are advised to use caution and be alert to all construction signage while traveling through the work zone.  Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

PUTNAM COUNTY I-40 WB Resurfacing and bridge repair from Falling Water River (MM 291) to the ramp from US-70N (SR-24) (MM 301): During this reporting period, the contractor will begin final striping and application of an epoxy coating to the surface of the bridge. Motorists are advised to use caution and be alert to all construction signage while traveling through the work zone.  Estimated project completion date is August 2019.

PUTNAM COUNTY Utility Work on SR-136 (N. WASHINGTON AVE.) in both directions from LM 4.5 to LM 5.4: Utility work between 4th St. and 6th St will take place. Signage, barrels, and cones will be present during this work. Motorists should use caution and be aware of flaggers. Work should continue through 08/31/2019 between 9AM and 3PM.

PUTNAM COUNTY Utility Work on SR-24 (NASHVILLE HWY.) in both directions from LM 0 to LM 10.15: Utility aerial work will occur along Hwy 70N from the Putnam County line to 1st Ave North. Signage, flaggers, and trucks with warning lights will be present during this work. Motorists are encouraged to use caution. Work will take place from 08/08/2019 through 09/05/2019 between 9AM to 3PM.

PUTNAM COUNTY Utility Work on SR-84 (LIVINGSTON HWY.) in both directions from LM 10.03 to LM 13.37: Mobile lane closures for utility work will occur on Livingston Hwy between Woodcliff Road and Stamp Shady Grove Road. Trucks with warning lights, signage and flaggers will be present during this work. Motorists should use caution. Work will take place from 08/15/19 through 10/14/19 between 8AM and 3PM.

PUTNAM AND WHITE COUNTY SR-24 Resurfacing in Putnam County from Mill Creek Road to Bee Rock Road and on SR-84 in White County from south of East College Street to the Putnam County line: The resurfacing of SR-84 in White County is largely complete. The contractor is expected to place pavement markings on SR-24 in Putnam County. Motorists are advised to use caution and be alert to all construction signage while travelling through work zone. Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

WHITE COUNTY SR-1 (US-70) Bridge repair over the Calfkiller River (LM 9.35) in Sparta: The Calfkiller bridge in Sparta is in the first of three phases of lane closures. These phases will affect between Wilson Street and Church Street. This first phase will restrict the west bound traffic to one lane, while retaining the left turn lane and two lanes of traffic in the east bound direction. This phase is expected to be completed by August 2019. Motorists are advised to use caution and be alert to all construction signage while traveling through the work zone.  Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

WHITE COUNTY SR-1 (US-70S) Resurfacing from the Van Buren County line (LM 0) to SR-111 (LM 7.7): The contractor will be removing pavement markings and resurfacing throughout the project which will result in temporary lane closures on SR-1 and SR-111. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the work zone and pay attention to all construction signage.  Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

BLEDSOE COUNTY SR-101 Bridge repair over Bee Creek (LM 8.98): Work on this project is underway. For the safety of the traveling public, the bridge will be reduced to one 10 foot lane and controlled with temporary signals. RESTRICTIONS: 10 foot lane. Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

BLEDSOE COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-28 (US-127) northbound at LM 28.8: The northbound truck climbing lane is currently closed at LM 28.8 due to a roadway settlement.

BLEDSOE AND SEQUATCHIE COUNTY SR-8 (US-127) from SR-28 (LM 14.9) to SR-111 then SR-28 (US-127) to south of Old York Hwy North (LM 7.9), SR-8 (US-127) from SR-28 (US-127)(LM 14.9) to SR-111 (LM 17.6), and SR-30 from SR-28 (US-127)(LM 10.3) to near Cherokee Ridge Road (LM 13.3) resurfacing: The contractor has begun work. During construction, motorists are encouraged to use caution and watch for construction equipment and personnel in the roadway. The contractor will be working on the sidewalks through the downtown area. Pedestrians are encouraged to use caution when walking in the area and avoid the areas of construction if at all possible. Estimated project completion date is June 2020.

CANNON, MARION, AND WARREN COUNTY SR-96 Resurfacing from the Rutherford County line (LM 0) to the Wilson County line (LM 5), SR-150 (US-41) resurfacing from north of Sequatchie Mountain Road (LM 5.7) to the Grundy County line (LM 13.8), SR-156 resurfacing from east of River Landing (LM 15.5) to east of Nickajack Landing Road (LM 23.1), and SR-287 resurfacing from SR-379 (LM 5.2) to south of Shelbyville Road (LM 10): Resurfacing operations on SR-287 Warren County, SR-150 Marion County, and SR-96 Cannon County sections are completed. The contractor is moving to SR-150 in Marion county to prepare the roadway for resurfacing that will begin next week. During construction, the road will be reduced to one lane Flaggers and a pilot car will be used to guide traffic flow through the work zone. Motorists are encouraged to use caution and watch for construction equipment and personnel in the roadway.  Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

COFFEE COUNTY I-24 Resurfacing from Bedford County (MM 96) to Noah Fork Creek (MM 101) including bridge deck repair: Installation of thermo pavement markings will take place Tuesday thru Friday between 9 AM and 3 PM. Pavement marking work will be performed under a mobile operation without any lane closures.  Estimated project completion date is August 2019.

FRANKLIN COUNTY Utility Work on SR-156 (JUMPOFF RD.) southbound from LM 0.15 to LM 2.13: Shoulder closures and intermittent lane closures will take place for utility work along SR-156 (Jumpoff Rd). Signage and flaggers will be present. Motorists should use caution. Work will begin 08/06/2019 through 09/20/2019 between 9AM and 3PM.

FRANKLIN COUNTY SR-50 Resurfacing from east of SR-121 (LM 6.1) to near Dry Creek Road (LM 10.3): The contractor has completed the paving process. Final operations will take place followed by inspection and punch list items. There will be a flagging operation to control traffic.  Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

GRUNDY COUNTY I-24 (MM 127) Repair of the SR-50 bridge over I-24: Constructions signs will be installed on 08/19/19. Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

GRUNDY COUNTY SR-108 both directions at LM 23.6: The roadway is reduced to one lane due to a roadway settlement and signalized 24/7 while repairs are being performed.

GRUNDY COUNTY SR-108 Resurfacing from east of Hugh Wooten Road (LM 26) to the Warren County line (LM 31.2): The contractor has completed the paving process. The final operations will take place followed by inspection and punch list items. There will be a flagging operation to control traffic. Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

MARION COUNTY Utility Work on I-24 in both directions at MM 152: A rolling road block will take place on I-24 near exit 152. THP will be present as well as signage and programmable message boards. Flaggers will be present at the west entrance on ramp and the west exit ramp for Hwy 72. Motorists should be prepared to stop and use caution when traveling through this area. Work will occur on Friday (08/16/2019) from 10AM to 12PM.

MARION COUNTY SR-156 over Running Water Creek (LM 25.58) bridge rehabilitation: SR 156 will be reduced to one lane controlled by a temporary traffic signal for the duration of the project. Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through this area. RESTRICTIONS: 10 foot lane. Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

MARION COUNTY SR-2 (US-41) resurfacing from Ladds Cove Road (LM 1.5) to west of Nelson Lane (LM 10.9): This project is underway. When the contractor is present, the road will be reduced to one lane controlled by a pilot car. Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the area. Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

MARION COUNTY SR-2 (US-64, US-72, US-41) Emergency slope stabilization between LM 25.20 and LM 26.40: Work on this project continues. The contractor will continue to maintain one lane open to traffic at all times controlled by a temporary signal. These signals will remain in place until project is complete. RESTRICTIONS: No wide loads. Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

WARREN COUNTY TDOT Bridge Maintenance on SR-286 (MORRISON ST.) in both directions from LM 2.54 to LM 2.54: TDOT Bridge Maintenance will be performing concrete repairs on the SR-286 bridge over Barren Fork River on Monday, 08/19/19, from 9 AM to 4 PM. Traffic control will be in place with lane closures.

WARREN COUNTY Utility Work on SR-55 (H.T. PELHAM MEMORIAL PKWY.) in both directions from LM 12.08 to LM 12.10: Temporary lane closures for utility work will occur on SR-55 at Old Shelbyville Road. McMinnville Police Department, signage, and flaggers will be present during this work. Motorists should use caution while traveling through this area. Traffic will be controlled 4 times for approximately 3 minutes each. Work will take place on 08/15/19 between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM.

WARREN COUNTY SR-288 Construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over Collins River (LM 4.97), including grading, drainage and paving: The bridge is currently reduced to one 10.5-foot lane to allow the contractor to construct the new bridge. While the bridge is reduced to one lane, traffic will be maintained and controlled by a temporary signal. Motorists should expect periodic delays and use caution in the work zone. RESTRICTIONS: 10.5-foot max width. Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

WARREN COUNTY SR-8 over Collins River (LM 8.14) Bridge Repair: The bridge is currently reduced to one 11-ft. lane to allow the contractor to repair the existing bridge. While the bridge is reduced to one lane, traffic will be maintained and controlled by a temporary signal for the safety of the traveling public. Motorists should expect periodic delays and use caution in the work zone. RESTRICTIONS: 11-ft max width. Estimated project completion date is August 2019.

DISTRICT 29

BRADLEY COUNTY Utility Work on SR-40 (S. LEE HWY.) in both directions from LM 0.20 to LM 0.21: Temporary lane closures for utility work will occur on S. Lee Hwy between Crest Drive SW and Oak Street SW. Signage and flaggers will be present during this work. Motorists should use caution. Work will begin 07/29/2019 through 08/30/2019 between 9AM and 2PM.

BRADLEY COUNTY SR-60 Resurfacing from north of SR-306 (LM 20.4) to the Hamilton County line (LM 25.1): During this reporting period, the contractor will have daily lane closures from 7:30 AM to 6 PM for the installation of rumble strip and permanent striping. Flaggers will be present in the work zone to assist with traffic control. Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

[Talley Construction Company, Inc./Wagner/CNT083]

BRADLEY, MCMINN, AND MEIGS COUNTY Resurfacing on SR-306 and SR-308 in Bradley County, SR-305 in McMinn County, and SR-306 in Meigs County: Work is complete on this project pending punchlist items. The contractor may have intermittent lane closures Monday through Friday between 8 AM to 5 PM to work on punchlist items and remove construction signs. Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 at I-24 Interchange Reconstruction: Crews may continue surveying at various locations throughout the interchange. Shoulders may be closed at these locations between 9 AM and 3 PM. Additionally, a hauling operation will be taking place requiring a single left lane closure on I-75 SB at MM 3, a single left or right lane closure on I-24 EB at MM 185, and a single left lane closure on I-75 NB MM 0 (state line). These lane closures will occur nightly between 9 PM and 6 AM. Haul trucks will be entering and exiting the interstate at these locations. Traffic pacing will occur 08/18/19 from 9 PM to 6 AM and begin at the following locations: I-24 EB at the Belvoir on-ramp MM 184, I-75 NB at the Cloud Springs Rd on-ramp MM 353, and I-75 SB at the E Brainerd Rd on-ramp MM 4.

HAMILTON COUNTY US-27 (I-124) widening from I-24/US-27 interchange to north of the Olgiati Bridge over the Tennessee River, including widening the Olgiati Bridge: Thursday Night (August 15, 2019) and Friday Night (August 16, 2019) from 7PM to 6AM a temporary road closure will be in place for Riverfront Parkway from Chestnut Street to Martin Luther King Boulevard (Local traffic only will be allowed from Martin Luther King Boulevard to a 100’ from the Olgiati Bridge and from Chestnut Street to a 100’ from the Olgiati Bridge) for hanging gutters over the Riverfront. Traffic will be detoured to Chestnut Street / Martin Luther King Boulevard. Thursday Night (August 15, 2019) from 7PM to 6AM temporary lane closures will be in place for Northbound US27 from I24 to the Olgiati Bridge and Southbound from the Olgiati Bridge to I24 for litter pickup. The South Frontage Road (Collector Road) will be closed temporarily for litter pickup during the night for a short period. No other ramps will be affected by these closures. RESTRICTIONS: I-124 (US-27)Northbound Exit 1C 4th St Off Ramp: No oversize/over dimensional loads; I-124 (US-27)Southbound Exit 1C 4th St Of Ramp: On oversize/over dimensional loads; I-124 (US-27) Southbound Exit 1A-B Martin Luther King Blvd. Off Ramp: No oversized/over dimensional loads; I-124 (US-27) Southbound On Ramps from Martin Luther King Blvd.: No oversized/over dimensional loads. Estimated project completion date is January 2020.

HAMILTON COUNTY TDOT Bridge Maintenance on SR-60 (STATE HWY. 60) both directions from LM 0.87 to LM 0.87: TDOT Bridge Maintenance will be performing concrete culvert repairs on SR-60 at LM 0.87. This work will take place on Tuesday, 08/20/19, from 9 AM to 4 PM. Traffic control will be in place at this time.

HAMILTON COUNTY Utility Work on I-75 in both directions from MM 5.0 to MM 10.32: A rolling road block will take place on I-75 between Hamilton Place Blvd exit and Volkswagen Drive exit. THP will be present, as well as signage, and programmable message boards. Motorists should be prepared to stop and use caution while traveling through this area. Work will occur on Sunday, 08/18/19, from 4AM to 5AM.

HAMILTON COUNTY Utility Work on SR-320 (E. BRAINERD RD.) westbound from LM 3.7 to LM 3.8: A single lane closure for utility work will take place on E. Brainerd Rd between Kinsey Drive and Stanley Avenue. Arrow boards, signage, and flaggers will be present during this work. Motorists should use caution. Work will occur on 08/19/2019 between 9PM and 3AM.

HAMILTON COUNTY SR-111 Repair of bridge over SR-29 (US-27): During this report period, the contractor will have one lane closed in each direction of SR-111 while performing bridge repairs. The contractor will also be closing one lane in each direction on SR-29 as it passes under SR-111. One lane in each direction will remain open at all times. Additionally, from Sunday, 8-18-19, thru Thursday, 8-22-19, the contractor will need to completely close the ramp from SR111 southbound to SR29 northbound. The road closures will only be in effect between 8 pm & 6 am. Tennessee Highway Patrol will be present to assist with traffic control. Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

HAMILTON COUNTY Cleaning of the McCallie Tunnel on SR-2 (US-64, US-11), the Stringers Ridge Tunnel on SR-8 (US-127), and the Bachman Tubes on SR-8 (US-76, US-41): There will be a flagging operation supporting the cleaning of the McCallie Tunnels on Wednesday, 08/21/19, (8 PM to 6 AM). Later that night the Stringer’s Ridge Tunnel will be cleaned under a signed detour traffic control plan. On Thursday, 08/22/2019, (8PM- 6AM) the Bachman tunnels will be cleaned under a signed detour traffic control plan.  Estimated project completion date is June 2020.

HAMILTON COUNTY SR-153 Resurfacing from north of Shallowford Road (LM 2.6) to north of SR-58 (LM 4.8), including bridge deck repair: Milling and paving operations will continue Sunday through Thursday of this reporting period. All work will take place between 8PM and 6AM and could involve double lane closures in either the NB or SB direction. At least one lane will remain open in each direction during the construction activity. Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

HAMILTON COUNTY SR-2 (US-11, US-64) Resurfacing from east of Shallowford Road (LM 18.6) to Yerbey Drive (LM 20.3): During this report period, the contractor will have lane closures while performing resurfacing operations. Lane closures will be limited to one lane at any given time. Law Enforcement will be present. Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

HAMILTON COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-2 (Cummings Highway) east bound lane from LM 3.5 to LM 4.5:  TDOT Bridge Maintenance will be repairing a retaining wall on SR-2 at LM 4.0. This work will take place on Tuesday, 08/20/19, through Thursday, 08/22/19, from 9 AM to 4 PM. Traffic control will be in place at this time. One lane will be closed in the east bound direction.

HAMILTON COUNTY SR-8 (SIGNAL MOUNTAIN BLVD.) in both directions from LM 15.6 to LM 16.2: Beginning 08/13/19, Signal Mountain Blvd. from LM 15.7 to LM 16.2 will be reduced to 1 lane controlled by a temporary traffic signal. The southbound lane will be closed for the maintenance contractor to install a soil nail retaining wall.

MCMINN COUNTY SR-30, Grading, drainage and paving on SR-30 from Jackson Street to east of Knight Road in Athens: Traffic along SR-30 is in its phase two configuration with all traffic on the former eastbound side, providing one lane in each direction plus turning lanes at critical intersections and businesses. The intersection of SR-39/SR-30 has recently changed to a different configuration. The traveling public should remain alert.  Estimated project completion date is April 2020.

MEIGS COUNTY SR-58 Bridge repair over Hiwassee River (LM 5.22): During this report period, the contractor will have roadway reduced to one lane controlled by temporary traffic signals. Additional flaggers will be on site as needed. Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

POLK COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-30 both directions at LM 13.5: The road is currently reduced to one lane and controlled with temporary signals due to a roadway settlement.

POLK COUNTY SR-30 Resurfacing from west of Tellico Reliance Road (LM 8) to near Greasy Creek Road (LM 13.1): During this reporting period, the contractor will be working on resurfacing operations and guardrail replacement. Motorists should expect long delays on SR-30 between LM 8 and LM 13. Motorists are advised to use caution in the work zone due to reduced lane width around paving operations. Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

POLK COUNTY SR-40 (US-64) Repair of bridges over North Potato Creek (LM 26.93): During this reporting period, the contractor will be working on expansion joint repairs on the eastbound bridge and deck repairs on the westbound bridge. Motorists are advised to reduce speed and use caution in the work zone. RESTRICTIONS: No loads wider than 12 ft. are allowed at LM 26.93 eastbound and westbound. Estimated project completion date is April 2020.

RHEA COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-68 (WASSOM MEMORIAL HIGHWAY) in both directions at LM 5.5: The roadway is reduced to one lane and signalized 24/7 due to a roadway settlement.

RHEA COUNTY SR-29 (US-27) Resurfacing from north of SR-60 (4.9) to Landes Way (6.5) including bridge repair:   Nighttime lane closures will occur beginning Sunday, 8/18/19, to support concrete work along SR-29. Work will take place Sunday - Thursday (7PM to 6 AM). Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

RHEA COUNTY SR-30 Grading, drainage and paving from west of New Union Road/White Oak Road (LM 12.6) to Sky Drive (LM 12.9): During this report period, the contractor will be performing grading and drainage operations along SR-30 and New Union Rd. During the initial phase traffic will be maintained on SR-30, White Oak Dr. and New Union Rd. in its current pattern. Flaggers will be on-site to assist with heavy equipment entering & exiting existing roadways.  Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

REGION 2 TDOT Maintenance drainage work: There will be possible short-term lane and shoulder closures at various locations in Region 2 in order to clean rock and debris from ditches on an as-needed basis. One lane will be maintained at all times.

REGION 2 TDOT Maintenance pothole repair and pavement patching: There will be possible short-term emergency lane closures at various locations in Region 2 in order to repair potholes and patch pavement on an as-needed basis. Depending on location and severity these repairs may be done during the day or at night. In addition to performing the work, regional Operations crews will also provide traffic control.

REGION 2 Preventative and unscheduled maintenance of Chattanooga SmartWay Intelligent Transportation System: The contractor may have short term shoulder and/or lane closures in order to perform preventative or unscheduled maintenance to the local SmartWay Intelligent Transportation System. Work hours are 9 AM to 3:30 PM. At least one travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times. Flaggers will assist with traffic control as needed. Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

REGION 2 On-call guardrail repair and new guardrail installation on various Interstate and State Routes: The contractor may have short term shoulder and/or lane closures in order to perform guardrail repair. These closures will take place on the interstate nightly from 7 PM to 6 AM Sundays through Thursdays and daily on state routes. At least one travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times on the interstate, and flaggers will be present on state routes during any work that is performed.  Estimated project completion date is June 2020.

REGION 2 The longitudinal joint stabilization on various state routes: During this report period, the contractor will have short-term lane closures while applying longitudinal joint stabilizer to various state routes. The contractor will have temporary traffic control measures in place during each closure. Additional flaggers and/or Tennessee Highway Patrol officers may be in place to assist as well.  Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

REGION 2 The relensing of snowplowable pavement markers on various Interstate and State Routes:   The contractor will begin relensing operations in Jackson and DeKalb Counties during this period. This will result in mobile lane closures on SR-56, SR-146, SR-288, and SR-26 in DeKalb County and on SR-135, SR-56, SR-85, SR-96, SR-53, and SR-262 in Jackson County. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the work zone and pay attention to all construction signage.  Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

REGION 2 Sweeping and drain cleaning on various interstate and state routes: There will be sweeping activity (Sunday through Thursday, 8 PM to 6 AM) on regional interstates and selected state routes. REGION 2 On-call pavement marking and the retracing of pavement markings with spray thermoplastic on various Interstate and State Routes: The contractor will be retracing existing pavement markings in Cumberland, Bradley, Marion and Hamilton Counties. This will result in mobile lane closures on I-40 in Cumberland County, on I-75 in Bradley County, and on I-24 in Hamilton County. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the work zone and pay attention to all construction signage.  Estimated project completion date is June 2020.
