DISTRICT 27

CUMBERLAND COUNTY I-40 Resurfacing from near the parking area (MM 306.34) to east of Exit 311 (MM 311.12): Construction signs have been installed. The contractor is scheduled to begin cold planing the week of 04/22/19 and will continue the week of 04/28/19. Lane closures will be required with state trooper assistance. Working hours will be from 7 pm to 6 am. During working hours, the speed will be reduced from 70 mph to 60 mph using digital speed limit sign assemblies.  Estimated project completion date is August 2019.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-101 (Peavine Road) Grading, drainage, and paving from Firetower Road to Westchester/Catoosa Boulevard: As grade work progresses, motorists should be alert for shifts in traffic patterns to allow for construction activities. The posted speed limit has been reduced from 45 mph to 35 mph within the work zone. Temporary lane closures and traffic stoppages may be needed to support ongoing work. Lane and/or road closures will be needed within Fairfield Glade to allow installation of storm drain and relocation of utilities. If needed, alternate routes will be coordinated with the Glade and properly identified. Motorists should reduce speeds on Peavine Road and be alert for construction personnel/equipment entering and exiting the roadway.  Estimated project completion date is November 2020.

DEKALB COUNTY Utility Work on SR-96 (Dale Ridge Road) in both directions from LM 12.5 to LM 12.65:   Single lane closure on the Center Hill Dam and vicinity for utility work. Single lane closure on SR-96 (Dale Ridge Rd.) and on SR-141. One lane will remain open, flaggers will be present. Motorists should reduce speed and use caution through the area. Work will be going on from 04/25/19 to 05/01/19 between 9 AM and 3 PM.

 

FENTRESS COUNTY Rotten Fork Road over Rotten Fork of the Wolf River Bridge Replacement: The contractor will be on site installing erosion measures and maintaining existing erosion measures in place. Existing roadway will remain open during the course of construction, but motorists are encouraged to use caution around construction site due to close proximity of construction equipment. Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

FENTRESS COUNTY SR-52, SR-154 and SR-297 Resurfacing (microsurfacing): The contractor has re-scheduled their work to begin 05/13/19. No work is currently ongoing on this contract. The routes covered in the project are SR-52 from east of US-127 (SR-28) (LM 13.60) to SR-296 (LM 17.62), SR-154 from north of Louvaine Road (LM 6.25) to the Pickett County line (LM 13.48), and SR-297 from SR-154 (LM 0.00) to the Scott County line (LM 8.79).  Estimated project completion date is June 2019.

FENTRESS COUNTY Vines Ridge Road over Big Laurel Creek Bridge Replacement: Vines Ridge Road remains closed at LM 1.06 and will remain closed until new bridge is constructed and in place. Approximate date for the length of closure is 07/31/19. Motorists should seek alternate route around Vines Ridge Road near location of construction. Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

FENTRESS AND OVERTON COUNTY SR-85 Emergency slide repairs at various locations: The roadway is closed from LM 18.4 to LM 22.4 in Overton county. SR-85 is also closed in Fentress County between LM 5.75 and 8.00. The contractor is continuing work on this contract in the two areas listed where the roadway is closed. Motorists are encouraged to use caution and seek alternate routes. Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

PUTNAM COUNTY I-40 near MM 296 Bridge Repair on Rocky Point Road over I-40: Rocky Point Road bridge at LM 10.08 over I-40 will be closed due to bridge repairs and is scheduled to re-open in June 2019. A detour is in place to guide motorists around the bridge closure. The contractor will be performing lane closures on I-40 from MM 295 to MM 298 during this period. Lane closures will be performed between the hours of 8 PM and 6 AM in the eastbound and westbound direction. Motorists are advised to use caution and be alert to all construction signage while traveling through the work zone.  Estimated project completion date is August 2019.

PUTNAM COUNTY SR-111 (LM 4.08) at I-40 (MM288) Signal Installation on east and westbound ramps in Cookeville, including grading, drainage and paving: The contractor will be installing conduit for the traffic signal systems along SR-111 North and South and along each of the I-40 ramps. This will result in temporary shoulder closures each day. The contractor will also be widening the I-40 westbound off-ramp, resulting in a right shoulder closure with barrier rail. Right turns from the westbound off-ramp onto SR-111 North will not be allowed while this area is being excavated. This closure will be in place until June 1. Motorists are advised to use an alternate route during this time. If they must travel through this area, they will experience long delays, as the left turn movement will be the only one allowed. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the work zone. Estimated project completion date is June 2019.

PUTNAM COUNTY Utility Work on SR-135 (S. Willow Ave.) northbound from LM 8.5 to LM 8.5: Locating and confirming size of water line. Flaggers, signage, cones and barrels will be used as needed on 04/25/19 between 9 AM and 3 PM.

 

PUTNAM COUNTY Utility Work on SR-136 (S. Washington Avenue) in both directions from LM 4.3 to LM 5.4: Work will take place between Freeze St. and Bradley St. involving the replacement of water/sewer services and relocation of a fire hydrant, between 4th St. & 6th St. Signage, barrels, and cones will be present during this work. Motorists should use caution and be aware of flaggers. Work will take place from 01/17/19 and 04/30/19 between 9 AM and 3 PM.

 

 

DISTRICT 28

BLEDSOE COUNTY SR-101 bridge repair over Bee Creek (LM 8.98): Work on this project is underway. For the safety of the traveling public, the bridge will be reduced to one 10 foot lane and controlled with temporary signals. RESTRICTIONS: 10 foot lane Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

COFFEE COUNTY I-24 Resurfacing from Bedford County (MM 96) to Noah Fork Creek (MM 101) including bridge deck repair: The contractor will continue the milling and paving process of the roadway surface work each Sunday thru Thursday during the hours of 7 PM to 6 AM each night. There will be lane closures during all work process. Motorists should use extreme caution. Law enforcement and safety personnel will be present.  Estimated project completion date is August 2019.

COFFEE COUNTY Utility Work on SR-2 (Hillsboro Highway) in both directions from LM 14.88 to LM 15.42: Removal of HDPE slip liner pipe & install cure-in-place pipe into existing 8" clay sewer line. Work will be performed in four consecutive days. Flaggers, signage, cones and barrels will be used as needed. Work will take place from 04/25/19 and 04/30/2019 between 8 AM and 6 PM.

 

GRUNDY COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on I-24 both directions from MM 129 to MM 131.5: Core drilling in slow lane will begin at 9 AM on Eastbound lanes on 30 April. Following completion of East bound lane work; core drilling will be performed in the slow lane Westbound. Traffic Control will be in place.

 

MARION COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-2 (US-HWY. 41) in both directions from LM 25.6: Slide repair work has route to one lane with traffic signals controlling alternating directions. Estimated project completion date is June 2019.

MARION COUNTY SR-156 over Running Water Creek (LM 25.58) bridge rehabilitation: SR-156 is reduced to one 10 foot lane across Running Water Creek Bridge and controlled with a temporary traffic signal while the bridge is repaired. VAN BUREN COUNTY Utility Work on SR-30 (STATE HWY. 30) eastbound from LM 0.0 to LM 5.07: Installation of aerial and buried fiber cable will take place between Rocky River Rd. and Passons Ln. Signs and Flaggers will be used and work will be intermittent. Work will be going on from 03/26/19 and 04/26/19 between 9 AM and 3 PM.

 

WARREN COUNTY Utility Work on SR-1 (SPARTA HWY.) westbound from LM 21.91 to LM 22.50: Install 2 new aerial fiber cable crossing on existing poles and 800' +/- of buried fiber cable along pole route at back of the right away. Flaggers and signage will be present. Work will be going on from 05/01/19 and 05/23/19 between 9 AM and 3 PM.

 

WARREN COUNTY SR-288 Construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over Collins River (LM 4.97), including grading, drainage and paving: The bridge is currently reduced to one 10.5-foot lane to allow the contractor to construct the new bridge. While the bridge is down to one lane, traffic will be maintained and controlled by a temporary signal. Motorists should expect periodic delays and use caution in the work zone. RESTRICTIONS: 10.5-foot max width Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

WARREN COUNTY SR-8 over Collins River (LM 8.14) Bridge Repair: The bridge is currently reduced to one 11-ft. lane to allow the contractor to repair the existing bridge. BRADLEY COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-2 (Keith Street N.W.) northbound at LM 11.39: Region 2 Bridge Repair will be repairing the parapet wall on the SR-2 bridge over Mouse Creek on Tuesday, 04/30/19, from 9 AM to 3 PM.

BRADLEY COUNTY US-64BP (US-74, SR-311) Resurfacing from east of Goldstar Drive (LM 3.08) to east of McGrady Drive (LM 5.00), including bridge deck repair: There will be nightly lane closures from 8 PM to 6 AM, Monday thru Saturday night as the contractor starts milling and paving the roadway. The contractor will have 1 lane closed on SR-311 as they work on the main roadway. Estimated project completion date is May 2019.

The contractor will work in Bradley County on SR-312 during this report period. There will be intermittent lane closures. HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 at I-24 Interchange Reconstruction: Crews will continue surveying and spotting utilities at various locations throughout the interchange. Shoulders may be closed at these locations between 9 AM and 3 PM. During this reporting period, there may be nighttime lane closures/traffic pacing throughout the project area between the hours of 9PM and 6AM.  Motorists are encouraged to be alert and obey all construction signage

HAMILTON COUNTY US-27 (I-124) Widening from I-24/US-27 interchange to north of the Olgiati Bridge over the Tennessee River, including widening the Olgiati Bridge: Work on this project continues with activities occurring on the west side of southbound US-27. Motorists should be alert for construction vehicles entering and leaving the area along the access ramps for east and westbound M. L. King Boulevard. The speed limit for the access ramp is 35 MPH. The 12th Street tie-in ramp to US-27 South has been temporarily closed. This closure will be in place until further notice. Additionally, the southbound ramp from W. Main St.to southbound US-27 has been temporarily closed and will remain so until further notice. Detours are posted. Motorists should pay close attention to the detour signage posted. The speed limit on US-27 in the construction zone remains 45 MPH. Weather permitting; the contractor may implement temporary lane/shoulder closures on weeknights between the hours of 7PM and 6AM. At least one lane will remain open in each direction on US-27. On Thursday night 04/25/2019 (7PM to 6AM) the contractor will implement a double right lane closure southbound on Olgiati Bridge transitioning to a single right lane closure past the W. 4th St. exit for staging of bridge beams. The southbound US-27 EXITS 1A -B will be temporary closed. M.L. King Blvd. will be temporarily closed between the westbound M.L. King Blvd. on ramp to northbound US-27 and the eastbound M.L. King Blvd. on ramp to southbound US-27. Additionally, the westbound M.L. King Blvd. on ramp to southbound US-27 will be closed. The eastbound M.L. King Blvd. on ramp to northbound US-27 will be temporarily closed. On Wednesday night 05/01/2019 (7PM to 6AM) the southbound on ramps from M.L. King Blvd. will be closed for the setting of Bridge Beams over W.12th Street. The southbound frontage road will be closed just south of EXIT 1B.Westbound M.L. HAMILTON COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on I-24 westbound at MM 181.8: Region 2 Bridge Repair will be performing night time concrete repairs to fix potholes in the bridge approaches on I24 WB over Dodds Avenue on Thursday 04/25/19 starting at 8 PM until 6 AM on Friday 04/26/19.

 

HAMILTON COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-2 (Cummings Highway) eastbound from LM .82 to LM 4.0: Bridge Repair will be working on Wednesday and Thursday, 05/01/19-05/02/19 from 9 AM to 3 PM. Work will include repairing a wing wall at LM 0.82 and repairing a deck joint at LM 4.0 over Lookout Creek. One lane will be closed during these repairs. 

 

HAMILTON COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-321 (Ooltewah-Ringgold Road) northbound at LM 3.4: Installing a driveway tile on 04/23/19 and 05/02/19 from 9 AM to 3 PM

 

HAMILTON COUNTY SR-148 (Scenic Highway) slide repair between LM 2.3 (Sanders Road) and LM 2.5 (Linear Lane): During this report period the contractor will have one lane closed while they perform stabilization operations to the slide area. One lane of traffic shall remain open at all times. Estimated project completion date is June 2019.

MCMINN COUNTY SR-30, Grading, drainage and paving on SR-30 from Jackson Street to east of Knight Road in Athens:  All traffic has been shifted into its phase two configuration. This will involve traffic using the newly built east bound portion of SR-30. REGION 2 TDOT Maintenance drainage work: There will be possible short-term lane and shoulder closures at various locations in Region 2 in order to clean rock and debris from ditches on an as-needed basis. One lane will be maintained at all times.

REGION 2 Sweeping and drain cleaning on various interstate and state routes: There will be mobile lane closures supporting a sweeping operation along regional interstates and highways through this reporting period. The sweeping activity will happen Sunday through Thursday (8 PM to 6 AM). Drain cleaning along I-75 NB (MM 0.0 to 12.0) will continue Sunday through Thursday (8 PM to 6 AM). The drain cleaning activity will involve inside lane closures and some outside shoulder closures.  Estimated project completion date is February 2020.
