Traffic Alert: Nightly Roadwork on I-40 in Downtown, East Knoxville begins Sunday

KNOXVILLE – Motorists traveling on I-40 in Knox County next week should be aware of lane closures for roadwork in Downtown Knoxville and East Knoxville.

Beginning on Sunday, March 10th, resurfacing and bridge repair work will take place on I-40 East and I-40 West between James White Parkway (Mile Marker 388) and the
Holston River Bridge (Mile Marker 395).   

Work will occur Sunday through Thursday nights starting at 7:00 p.m. and ending at 6:00 a.m. the following morning. 

Motorists should use extreme caution through this area as workers will be present. This schedule is contingent on favorable weather conditions.
