DISTRICT 27

CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-101 (Peavine Road)

Grading, drainage, and paving will take place from Firetower Road to Westchester/Catoosa Boulevard. Lane and/or road closures will be needed within Fairfield Glade to allow for the installation of a storm drain and relocation of utilities. Alternate routes will be coordinated with the Glade and properly identified. Estimated project completion date is November 2020.

DEKALB COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-141 (Lancaster Road) in both directions from LM 0.7 to LM 1.1

SR-141, Lancaster Road, is currently reduced to one lane at log mile 1.0 due to a slide and settlement. Temporary signals are in place to move traffic through the site, which is one mile below Center Hill Dam.

FENTRESS COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-85 (Wilder Road) in both directions from LM 6.3 to LM 6.9

One lane of SR-85 is closed due to a slide and settlement. A traffic signal is present and the slide is delineated with cones. Motorists should be aware of the traffic signal and use caution in the area.

JACKSON COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-262 (Gladdice Highway) in both directions from LM 8.6 to LM 8.9

SR-262 is reduced to one lane and is being controlled by a signal at the 8.8 log mile due to a slide and settlement.

OVERTON COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-85 (Wilder Highway) in both directions from LM 18.4 to LM 22.4

SR-85 is closed between LM 18.4 and LM 22.4. The closure is due to a slide and settlement. The road is barricaded and impassable to motorists.

PUTNAM COUNTY I-40 (LM 10) the repair of the bridge on Rocky Point Road over I-40

Rocky Point Road Bridge at LM 10.08 over I-40 will be closed due to bridge repairs. A detour is in place to guide motorists around the bridge closure. Estimated project completion date is June 2019.

PUTNAM COUNTY I-40 interchange lighting at the junction of Mine Lick Creek Road (LM 15.56)

The contractor is installing poles and conduit throughout the project. Motorists should expect temporary, intermittent lane closures during this time. Estimated project completion date is April 2019.

PUTNAM COUNTY Utility Work on SR-136 (N. Washington Avenue) in both directions from LM 4.3 to LM 5.4

03/17/19 to 03/30/19 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Between Freeze Street and Bradley Street, work will take place involving the replacement of water/sewer services. A fire hydrant will also be relocated between 4th & 6th Street.

WHITE COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-111 (State Highway 111) in both directions from LM 6.95 to LM 6.95

Monday, March 18th, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. CT - 3:00 p.m. CT

Region 2 Bridge Repair will be patching the bridge deck on SR-111 at mile marker 6.95 over Mayberry Street. One lane will be closed in both directions.

 

DISTRICT 28

BLEDSOE COUNTY SR-101 bridge repair over Bee Creek (LM 8.98)

For the safety of the traveling public, the bridge will be reduced to one 10 foot lane and controlled with temporary signals. Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

Restrictions: 10 foot lane

COFFEE COUNTY I-24 Resurfacing from Bedford County (MM 96) to Noah Fork Creek (MM 101) including bridge deck repair:

Friday, 03/14/19 at 7:00 p.m. thru Monday, 03/18/19 at 6:00 a.m.

There will be lane closures during the repair work on the bridges. Law enforcement and safety personnel will be present.  Estimated project completion date is August 2019.

FRANKLIN COUNTY Utility Work on SR-476 (Mansford Road) eastbound from LM 3.3 to LM 3.6

Monday, 3/11/19 to Saturday, 03/30/19 between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

There will be a westbound lane closure on the bridge over Tims Ford Lake for utility maintenance. Motorists should reduce speed, and be prepared to stop.

MARION COUNTY Rock fall mitigation on I-24 westbound at MM 136.2

During this reporting period the contractor will reshape and clean ditches. The roadway is reduced to two lanes with a lane shift for the duration of the project. Motorists should use extreme caution during this time and be aware of construction equipment crossing over the roadway.  Estimated project completion date is May 2019.

MARION COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-2 (US-HWY. 41) both directions from LM 25.6

Slide repair work has route to one lane with traffic signals controlling alternating directions. Estimated project completion date is June 2019.

Restrictions: Any wide load greater than 12 feet or long load greater than 53 feet is restricted on this section of roadway.

MARION COUNTY Utility Work on I-24 in both directions from MM 152 to MM 155

3/14/19 to 3/14/19 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

There will be a rolling road block between 152-155 MM crossing the Industrial Blvd Bridge for aerial fiber crossing.

MARION COUNTY SR-156 over Running Water Creek (LM 25.58) bridge rehabilitation

SR-156 is reduced to one 10 foot lane across Running Water Creek Bridge and controlled with a temporary traffic signal while the bridge is repaired. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers. Please use caution when traveling through this area. Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

Restrictions: 10 foot lane

SEQUATCHIE COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-28 (US-127) both directions from LM 15.25 to LM 15.25

Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. CT – 3:00 p.m. CT

The Region 2 Bridge Repair team will be repairing the concrete pavement on SR-28(US-127) MM 15.25. One lane will be closed.

WARREN COUNTY SR-288 Construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over the Collins River (LM 4.97) that will include grading, drainage and paving

The bridge is currently reduced to one 10.5-foot lane to allow the contractor to construct the new bridge. While the bridge is down to one lane, traffic will be maintained and controlled by a temporary signal.  The contractor may perform blasting operations during this report period to remove the old structure. If so, traffic will be stopped temporarily during these operations. Motorists should expect periodic delays and use caution in the work zone.

Restrictions: 10.5-foot max lane width

WARREN COUNTY SR-8 over Collins River (LM 8.14) Bridge Repair

The bridge is currently reduced to one 11-ft. lane to allow the contractor to repair the existing bridge. While the bridge is down to one lane, traffic will be maintained and controlled by a temporary signal for the safety of the traveling public. Motorists should expect periodic delays and use caution in the work zone. Estimated project completion date is August 2019.

Restrictions: 11-foot max lane width

 

DISTRICT 29

BRADLEY COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-306 (Eureka Road N.W.) in both directions from LM 6 to LM 8

Pipe replacement and drainage work will take place. A flagging operation will control traffic.

BRADLEY COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-60 (Georgetown Road N.W.) both directions from Eureka Rd (LM 20) to Hamilton County Line (LM 25)

Pipe replacement and drainage work will take place. A flagging operation will control traffic. Estimated project completion date is March 2019.

BRADLEY COUNTY US-64BP (US-74, SR-311) Resurfacing from east of Goldstar Drive (LM 3.08) to east of McGrady Drive (LM 5.00), including bridge deck repair

Beginning Sunday, 03/31/19 there will be nightly lane closures from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Monday thru Thursday nights until the end of May

The contractor will start to mill and pave the roadway. Expect delays. Estimated project completion date is June 2019.

BRADLEY AND MCMINN COUNTY SR-312 (Bradley County) Miscellaneous safety improvements from the Hamilton County Line (LM 0.00) to Quill Dr. (LM 5.27); US-11 (SR-2) (McMinn County) Miscellaneous safety improvements from Sanford Road (LM 4.05) to Chapel Road (LM 12.32)

The contractor will work in Bradley County on SR-312 during this report period. There will be intermittent lane closures. Flaggers will assist with traffic control. Estimated project completion date is June 2019.

HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 at I-24 Interchange Reconstruction

Daily, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Survey parties and geotechnical crews will be on site at various locations. Shoulders may be closed at various locations.

HAMILTON COUNTY US-27 (I-124) Widening from I-24/US-27 interchange to north of the Olgiati Bridge over the Tennessee River, including widening the Olgiati Bridge

Motorists should be alert for construction vehicles entering and leaving the area along the access ramps for east and westbound M. L. King Boulevard. The speed limit for the access ramp is 35 MPH. The 12th Street tie-in ramp to US-27 South has been temporarily closed. This closure will be in place until further notice. Additionally, the southbound ramp from W. Main St.to southbound US-27 has been temporarily closed and will remain so until further notice. Detours are posted. Motorists should pay close attention to the detour signage posted. The speed limit on US-27 in the construction zone remains 45 MPH. Weather permitting; the contractor may implement temporary lane/shoulder closures on weeknights between the hours of 7PM and 6AM. At least one lane will remain open in each direction on US-27. Beginning Wednesday evening 03/20/2019 the Contractor will close westbound M. L. King Blvd. at the northbound on ramp to US-27 and eastbound M. L. King Blvd.at the southbound on ramp to US-27. The following ramps will be closed: westbound M. L. King Blvd. on ramp to US-27 southbound, the eastbound M. L. King Blvd. on ramp to US-27 northbound and the southbound off ramp to M. L. King Blvd. eastbound. Detours will be posted. These closures are to facilitate the installation of a storm drainage crossing on M. L. King Boulevard. Hours of operation are scheduled for 7 PM Wednesday evening through 6 AM Thursday morning.

HAMILTON COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-148 (Lookout Mountain Scenic Highway) both directions from LM 2.4 to LM 2.4

3/18/19 to 3/20/19 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

A flagging operation for tree removal will take place.

HAMILTON COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-153 (State Highway 153) northbound from LM 7.1 to LM 7.1

3/18/19 to 3/20/19 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The northbound on-ramp from Access Road will be closed for patch work.

HAMILTON COUNTY Utility Work on I-24 both directions from MM 184 to MM 185

I-24 approx. 200' east of Moore Rd. AWP & THP will be providing all traffic signs & rolling road block to include blocking entrances before work.

HAMILTON COUNTY Utility Work on SR-2 (Brainerd Road) westbound from LM 15.18 to LM 15.18

3/11/19 to 3/22/19 from 8:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

The two west bound lanes will be closed in order to spot gas utility for depth in order to bore across Brainerd Rd. to install new water service. Signage with arrow boards will be used.

HAMILTON COUNTY Utility Work on SR-321 (Ooltewah-Ringgold Road) northbound from LM 4.43 to LM 4.43

3/14/19 to 3/20/19 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Installation of a water main will take place for the new subdivision of Barnsley Park between Collier PIace and Bill Reed Road. Flaggers will be present while lane is closed.

HAMILTON COUNTY Utility Work on SR-58 (Highway 58) westbound from LM 9.61 to LM 9.61

3/14/19 to 3/20/19 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

A lane Closure between Holder Road and Deerwood Drive will take place. Signs, barricades, and flaggers will support as needed.

HAMILTON COUNTY Utility Work on SR-8 (E. MAIN ST.) both directions from LM 7.64 to LM 7.64

3/14/19 to 3/20/19 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Pavement will be cut to connect a sanitary sewer line on East Main St. between Adams & Jefferson St at the Southwest corner of Main & Jefferson St.

HAMILTON COUNTY SR-153 resurfacing from I-75 (LM 0.00) to Shallowford Road (LM 2.60), including bridge deck repair

Monday - Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

SR-153 SB and SR-153 NB may have lane closures to support punch list work throughout the project. Estimated project completion date is March 2019.

HAMILTON COUNTY SR-111 (LM 1.5) Replacement of a collapsed 42" corrugated metal pipe, including grading, drainage, and paving

All lanes have been restored. Contractor will have intermittent lane closures during non-peak hours southbound to address punch list items. Estimated project completion date is April 2019.

HAMILTON COUNTY SR-320 (East Brainerd Road) grading, drainage, installation of signals, construction of seven retaining walls and paving from east of Graysville Road to east of Bel-Air Road

3/14/19 to 3/20/19 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

During this report period, the contractor will have intermittent lane closures. This work may affect either direction of East Brainerd Road or side streets from Graysville Road to Hamlet Drive. Flaggers will assist with traffic control as needed. Estimated project completion date is March 2019.

HAMILTON COUNTY SR-58 miscellaneous safety improvements at the intersection of SR-312 (Birchwood Pike) (LM 15.70)

Monday - Saturday between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. No southbound traffic restrictions will be allowed between 5:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. No northbound traffic restrictions will be allowed between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Contractor will be completing various safety improvements at the intersection of SR-58 & Birchwood Pike. Flaggers will assist with traffic control as needed. Estimated project completion date is April 2019.

HAMILTON COUNTY US-11/64 SR-2 (Brainerd Rd. /Lee Hwy.) resurfacing from east of Moore Road (LM 13.85) to east of Airport Road (LM 15.84)

Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

During this report period, the contractor may have intermittent lane restrictions while adjusting ADA ramps. This work may affect either direction of SR-2 (Brainerd Road/Lee Highway) and between Moore Rd & Airport Rd. Flaggers will assist with traffic control as needed. Estimated project completion date is March 2019.

MCMINN COUNTY SR-30, grading, drainage and paving on SR-30 from Jackson Street to east of Knight Road in Athens

Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction with turning lanes provided at critical intersections and business accesses.  Estimated project completion date is April 2020.

MCMINN COUNTY I-75 resurfacing from north of County Road 267 (MM 55) to the Monroe County line (MM 60)

Beginning Sunday, from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

There will be 1 lane closed starting in the southbound lanes on I-75 from MM 54.7 to MM 60 as the contractor starts working on installing underdrains on the shoulder. THP will assist with traffic control. Estimated project completion date is August 2019.

POLK COUNTY SR-40 (US-64) in the Ocoee River Gorge from LM 9.8 to SR-30 pipe replacement

A flagging operation will maintain one lane of traffic. Motorists should expect delays for up to 15 minutes. Message boards have been deployed to give motorists advanced warning.  Estimated project completion date is March 2019.

POLK COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-30 both directions at LM 13.5

Slide repair work has route reduced to one lane with traffic signals controlling alternating directions.

POLK COUNTY US-64 (SR-40) Construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over Branch and TOHA Old Line railroad (LM 24.85), including grading, drainage and paving

There will be intermittent lane closures as the contractor works to finish up on the project. Estimated project completion date is May 2019.

POLK COUNTY US-64 (SR-40) Survey work from MM 10 to MM 15

Monday - Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Survey work will take place weather permitting. Expect intermittent flagging operations. Estimated project completion date is March 2019.

RHEA COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-302 (Old Stage Road) northbound from LM 1 to LM 2.5

3/14/19 to 3/20/19 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Crews will work to reshape ditches along this stretch of roadway.

RHEA COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-68 (Wassom Memorial Highway) in both directions at LM 5.5

The roadway is reduced to one lane and signalized 24/7 due to road roadway settlement.

RHEA COUNTY Utility Work on SR-68 (Watts Bar Highway) in both directions at LM 0.0

3/16/19 to 3/17/19 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

A rolling closure will take place on the bridge to change out lighting fixtures. Flaggers and work zones signs will be present.

 

REGION WIDE

REGION 2 TDOT Maintenance Drainage Work

There will be possible short-term lane and shoulder closures at various locations in Region 2 in order to clean rock and debris from ditches on an as-needed basis. One lane will be maintained at all times.

REGION 2 TDOT Maintenance pothole repair and pavement patching

There will be possible short-term emergency lane closures at various locations in Region 2 in order to repair potholes and patch pavement on an as-needed basis. Depending on location and severity these repairs may be done during the day or at night. In addition to performing the work, regional Operations crews will also provide traffic control.

REGION 2 On-call guardrail repair and new guardrail installation on various interstate and state routes

The contractor may have short term shoulder and/or lane closures in order to perform guardrail repair. These closures will take place on the interstate nightly from 7PM to 6AM Sundays through Thursdays and daily on state routes. At least one travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times on the interstate, and flaggers will be present on state routes during any work that is performed.  Estimated project completion date is June 2019.

REGION 2 Preventative and unscheduled maintenance of Chattanooga SmartWay Intelligent Transportation System

The contractor may have short term shoulder and/or lane closures in order to perform preventative or unscheduled maintenance to the local SmartWay Intelligent Transportation System. Work hours are 9AM to 3:30PM. At least one travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times. Flaggers will assist with traffic control as needed. Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

REGION 2 On-call cable barrier repair on various interstate and state routes

The contractor may have short term shoulder closures in order to perform cable rail repair. Both travel lanes will remain open to traffic at all times on the interstate during any work that is performed. Estimated project completion date is December 2019.

REGION 2 Sweeping and drain cleaning on various interstate and state routes

There will be mobile lane closures supporting a sweeping operation along regional interstates and highways through this reporting period. The sweeping activity will happen Sunday - Thursday (8PM - 6AM). Drain cleaning is scheduled to begin on Sunday 3/17/19 on the McCallie Tunnels and the Bachman Tubes. On Monday, 3/18/19 drain cleaning operations will take place on SR153 NB & SB (LM 0.00 to 6.00. This activity will involve inside lane closures.  Estimated project completion date is February 2020.

 

Motorists are encouraged to use caution and obey reduced speed limits in all TDOT work zones, regardless of lane closure activity.
