Multimodal Access Grant

TDOT’s Multimodal Access Grant is a state-funded program created to support the transportation needs of pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit users through infrastructure projects that address existing gaps along state routes. Multimodal facilities play an important role in providing transportation choices for people across Tennessee. With half of all trips in the United States being three miles or less, good walking, biking and transit facilities are essential to the continued growth and success of our towns and cities. Multimodal Access Grant projects are state-funded at 95 percent with a 5 percent local match. State match amount will not exceed $950,000.

The character limits in this PDF  match the character limits in the eGrants application. To avoid any later delays, applicants who have not used the eGrants interface previously are advised to create an eGrants account ASAP following the instructions in the eGrants Training Video.

Following submission of final applications, the Office of Multimodal Planning will faciliate a feasibility review process for all submitted projects, and will then host a scoring committee process to determine the most competitive projects for award. Award announcments are expected to occur in early 2021.
