Captain Tommy Fyke
Captain Fyke advanced to the rank of Captain over the Protective Services Division in September 2015. This division encompasses executive protection, capitol protection, and facility protection units. Prior to this, he served as Lieutenant over the executive protection unit since 2008. Captain Fyke is a 1997 graduate of the Tennessee Highway Patrol Academy and was first stationed as a road trooper in Shelby County, Tennessee. After completing a one year assignment in Shelby County, Captain Fyke returned to Davidson County, assigned to the executive protection unit. He was promoted to Sergeant by Governor Don Sundquist after serving five years with the Governor’s Security Detail.
Captain Fyke was born and raised in Montgomery County, Tennessee. He is a graduate of Clarksville High School, Tennessee Law Enforcement Academy, and the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command. Captain Fyke is a second generation Trooper.
