The Oakland Driver Services Center is providing a new system that allows you to “Join the Line” via text messaging, telephone, web site as well as in person at the Driver Services Center. The options provided to “Join the Line” are normally available during the hours of 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. If the number of customers in the line are determined to be the maximum number that can be provided service during office hours, the line will close and become unavailable. You may check back later in the day or “Join the Line” on another business day.

Note: Please note that road test appointments for the Fayette County-Oakland Driver Services Center can only be made via the department’s on-line services webpage.
Text Message: You may “Join the Line” for the Fayette County-Oakland Driver Services Center and obtain your appointment code by simply texting 38060 to 865-245-5690 or text your postal zip code to get the 3 nearest driver services centers offering this service.
Standard text messaging rates may apply when using this service.
Status updates provide an opportunity to change your status. A list of response options include:
- N (next time slot)
- C (Cancel appointment)
Available response options will be provided with each message sent.

IMPORTANT: All customers who have joined the line through web ticketing, text messaging, or telephone transaction, must check-in at the Self-Service Ticketing Kiosk and be prepared to enter your confirmation code upon arrival at the Driver Services Center.

Driver Services Center: You may also go to the Fayette County-Oakland Driver Services Center and enter the line via the kiosk located at the Driver Services Center.
NOTE: Everyone must check in at the kiosk upon arrival at the Driver Services Center.
Each citizen requesting a transaction must join the line separately. For example, if a driver and a family member each need driver licenses renewed, each person must join the line and start the process separately.
