Assistant Commissioner Victor Donoho
Victor Donoho was named assistant commissioner in October 2019 to oversee the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security’s (TDOSHS) Administrative Divisions; Fiscal Services, Internal Audit, Communications, Tennessee Highway Safety Office, Facilities Management and liaise with the Strategic Technology Solutions (STS) division of the Department of Finance and Administration.
Donoho is a native of Macon County, Tennessee, with more than 30 years of experience in the Department of Safety and Homeland Security. Donoho began his departmental career with the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) serving from 1989 to 2016, where he began as a road trooper. He was promoted to sergeant, lieutenant, captain during his 28 years in THP.
Donoho was previously the director of the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO). During his time as director, he improved transparency and efficiency of funding to strengthen existing THSO partnerships and provide funding to additional programs. Under Donoho’s leadership, the THSO experienced improvements in several areas including training, media services, child passenger safety, teen education and distracted driving funding and initiatives.
Donoho graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership from Union University. He is also a graduate of the Tennessee Government Executive Institute, LEAD Tennessee, and Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command.
