DeKalb Telephone Communication & Wilson County Broadband Expansion

DeKalb Telephone Communications used a grant from the Tennessee Emergency Broadband Fund to make high-speed broadband service available to 595 homes and businesses in previously unserved and underserved parts of Smith, Wilson, and Trousdale counties. Previously, residents of these rural communities were unable to make 911 calls and had to travel to participate in virtual learning during COVID-19. With expanded internet access, these residents are empowered to fully embrace their education, job opportunities, healthcare services, and entertainment options.
