Interstate Construction Report for March 3 - 9, 2011

REGION 3 On-Call Guardrail:Thursday March 3 through Tuesday March 9, 8PM-6AM, (each night), There will be one lane closures at various locations on interstates and state routes in Davidson, Dickson, Wilson, Sumner, Maury, Humphreys, Giles, and Rutherford Counties for guardrail repair.

REGION 3, On-Call Cable Barrier Repair:Thursday March 3 through Wednesday March 9, 8PM-6AM, There will be one lane closures at various locations on interstates and state routes in order to repair cable barrier rail.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday March 3 through Wednesday March 9, (excluding weekends), 9AM-4PM, There will be one lane closed periodically on I-24 westbound in Montgomery County between mile marker 8 and mile marker 11 in order to trim vegetation overhanging the roadway. One lane will remain open. Exit 11 is S.R. 76 Adams and Clarksville Exit, and Exit 8 is S.R. 237 Rossview Road Exit.

ROBERTSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday March 3 through Wednesday March 9, (excluding weekends), 9AM-4PM, There will be one lane closed periodically on I-24 in both directions in Robertson County between mile marker 25 and mile marker 19 in order to trim vegetation overhanging the roadway. One lane will remain open. This is between exit 24 (Springfield and Ashland City) and Exit 19 (Adams).
 
DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:
  • Thursday March 3 through Wednesday March 9, 9AM-3PM, There will be possible lane closures at various locations on State Routes and Interstates in Middle Tennessee to patch potholes on an as needed basis.
  • Thursday March 3 through Wednesday March 9, 9AM-3PM, There will be mobile operations in various locations in Davidson County for ditch cleaning. 
  • Thursday March 3 through Wednesday March 9, 9AM-3PM, and 7PM-1AM, There will be mobile operations in various locations in Davidson County for vegetation control. This will affect the shoulders or inside and outside lanes.
  • Thursday March 3 through Wednesday March 9, 9AM-3PM, and 7PM-1AM, There will be mobile operations in various locations in Davidson County for shoulder work. This will affect the shoulders or inside and outside lanes.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, Repair of the I-24 (Silliman Evans) Bridge over Nashville & Eastern Railroad:
  • Saturday March 5 and Sunday March 6, 6AM-6PM, The right lane of I-24 eastbound will be closed for concrete repair.
  • Sunday March 6 through Saturday March 12, 8PM-6AM, The outside lane and shoulder will be closed on I-24 eastbound in order to install the containment system used in sandblast and paint operations. 

DAVIDSON and RUTHERFORD COUNTIES, ITS Phase III:Thursday March 3 through Wednesday March 9, 9AM-3PM and 7PM-6AM, There will be periodic day and night time shoulder closures at various locations within the areas listed below in order to install devices, electrical service, and testing. 
  • I-24, both directions, between Hickory Hollow Pkwy and Waldron Rd (MM 62 to MM 64)

MARION COUNTY, I-24 at Exit 152 construction of a concrete Bulb-Tee beam bridge on U.S. 72 (SR-27) including grading, drainage, and paving: The contractor will be clearing, relocating utilities and performing grading and bridge work.  There may be nighttime closures on I-24 between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. during this report period. Flaggers and THP will assist with traffic control as needed. Estimated project completion date is September 2012. 
 
HAMILTON, BRADLEY, and MARION COUNTIES, I-75 / I-24 / SR-153 / SR-29 construction of an intelligent transportation system on various interstate and state routes in and near Chattanooga: The contractor will implement short duration shoulder closures throughout this report period within the project area on weekdays between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM and anytime on the weekend to perform aerial camera maintenance. There also will be short term lane closures between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM at various locations throughout the project area to allow the contractor to perform aerial camera maintenance. THP will assist with traffic control. Estimated project completion date is March 2011.

HAMILTON, BRADLEY, and MARION COUNTIES, I-75 / I-24 / SR-153 / SR-29 construction of an intelligent transportation system on various interstate and state routes in and near Chattanooga: The contractor will implement short duration shoulder closures throughout this report period within the project area on weekdays between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM and anytime on the weekend to perform aerial camera maintenance. There also will be short term lane closures between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM at various locations throughout the project area to allow the contractor to perform aerial camera maintenance. THP will assist with traffic control. Estimated project completion date is March 2011.

UNICOI COUNTY, I-26 between Mile Markers 36 and 40: Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures during daylight hours and use caution through this resurfacing project.

TDOT Maintenance:Wednesday March 2 through March 9, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.: There will be temporary lane closures at various locations in Region 4 in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

SHELBY COUNTY, On-Call Guardrail:Wednesday March 2 through Wednesday March 9, 8:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.: There will be night time lane closures at the following locations to repair damaged guard rail:
·         I-40, Shelby County eastbound (MM 10.6 to MM 11.1), two lanes to remain open.

SHELBY COUNTY, Bridge Rehabilitation on I-40 over Sam Cooper : The next 5 weekends, some weekdays, closures are planned to complete these repairs.
  • Friday March 4, 8:00 p.m. through Wednesday March 9, 6:00 a.m.: There will be lane closures eastbound to repair the I-40 bridge deck over Sam Cooper Blvd. There will be 2 lanes closed and two lanes open on I-40. Sam Cooper will have one lane open and one lane closed under the bridge.

CHEATHAM COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday March 3 through Wednesday March 9, (excluding weekends), 7PM-5AM, There will be one lane closed periodically on I-40 in both directions in Cheatham County between mile marker 186 and mile marker 192 in order to patch potholes in the concrete bridge decks. One lane will remain open.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:
  • Thursday March 3 through Wednesday March 9, 9AM-3PM, There will be possible lane closures at various locations on State Routes and Interstates in Middle Tennessee to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Bridge Repair:Thursday March 3, 8PM-5AM, I-40 westbound from mile marker 206 to mile marker 205, two left lanes closed to repair potholes in bridge deck. One lane will remain open.
 
DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Utilities:Sunday March 6, 6AM-10AM, Overhead aerial crossing at I-40 and D.B. Todd overpass bridge in Davidson County. This request by Level 3 for adding strand and fiber optic cable. Two rolling stop blocks are expected. Police cars will be present.
 
REGION 3, On-Call Striping:Monday March 7 through Wednesday March 9, 9AM-3PM, There will be rolling road blocks to test striping in Smith County on I-40 EB and WB. 

SMITH COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:Thursday March 3, 9AM-3PM, The right lane will be closed on I-40 westbound in Smith County at the 5.04 mile marker (this is before the Alexandria exit 254) in order to repair the bridge deck. One lane will remain open.

ROANE COUNTY, I-40 East at Mile Marker 358.4: On Tuesday night, March 8, 2011, motorists should be alert for a lane closure between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews perform cable barrier repairs. Motorists should expect potential delays and use caution traveling through this area.

LOUDON COUNTY, I-40 East / I-75 North approaching Watt Rd. (Exit 369): On Thursday night, March 3, 2011, motorists should be alert for a lane closure between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews replace an overhead sign structure. Motorists should be alert for workers present, expect potential delays and use caution traveling through this area.

KNOX COUNTY, I-40 West at Mile Marker 392: On Thursday night, March 3, 2011, motorists should be alert for lane closures between the hours of 8 p.m. and 1 a.m. as crews perform roadway maintenance repairs. Motorists should be alert for workers and equipment present and expect potential delays. Thru traffic on I-40 may use I-640 during this time to avoid delays associated with this work.

COCKE COUNTY, I-40 East at Mile Marker 430.3: On Monday, March 7, 2011, motorists should be alert for a lane closure beginning after 9 a.m. as crews perform cable barrier repairs. Motorists should expect potential delays and use caution traveling through this area.

KNOX COUNTY, I-640 West at Mile Marker 0.8: On Wednesday night, March 9, 2011, motorists should be alert for a lane closure between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews perform cable barrier repairs. Motorists should expect potential delays and use caution traveling through this area.

 
I-55

TDOT Maintenance:Wednesday March 2 through March 9, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.: There will be temporary lane closures at various locations in Region 4 in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-55 at Mallory Avenue: I-55 is reduced to two lanes in each direction. Currently there is access to Mallory Avenue (Exit 9) from Northbound I-55. The NEW northbound lanes at I-55 are open to traffic.
  • Wednesday March 2 through Wednesday March 9, There will be intermittent lane closures southbound at mile marker 8 to mile marker 9 in order to perform work on Interstate between bridge 1 and 2. One southbound lane will remain open.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Widening of I-65 from SR 248 (Goose Creek) to SR 96:Thursday March 3 through Wednesday March 9, 8PM-5AM, There will be alternating one lane closures on I-65 northbound and southbound between SR 96 and the bridge over the Harpeth River in order to perform some maintenance work. One lane will remain open.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, Widening of I-65 ramp to Old Hickory Blvd (Brentwood):Thursday March 3 through Wednesday March 9, 9PM-5AM, The inside lane of Old Hickory Blvd. westbound at I-65 will be closed in order to remove the concrete island.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, I-65 at the junction with SR 12 (Rosa Parks Blvd.):
  • Thursday March 3 through Wednesday March 9, 9PM-5AM and Saturday March 5, 6AM-6PM, There will be alternating lane closures on Rosa Parks Blvd. in order to install the signal crossing and traffic adjustment.
  • Saturday March 5 and Monday March 7 through Wednesday March 9, 9PM-5AM, There will be alternating lane closures on I-65 northbound and southbound in order to perform bridge work.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, TDOT Maintenance:
  • Thursday March 3 through Wednesday March 9, 9AM-3PM, There will be possible lane closures at various locations on State Routes and Interstates in Middle Tennessee to patch potholes on an as needed basis.

FUTURE I-69
 
OBION COUNTY-Future I-69 beginning 0.31 mile south of SR-5/SR-22 to 0.78 mile west of SR-21:
  • NOW through Thursday November 3, 2011, Brevard Road near Goodyear in Union City will be CLOSED for the construction of an interchange at this location so that Brevard Road will cross over I-69. A detour route is posted.
  • NOW through Saturday September 15, 2012, Perry Browder Road between George Moss Road and Mt. Zion Road will be CLOSED for the construction of an interchange at this location. A detour route is posted. There is only one house on this section of Perry Browder Road and they will provide egress and ingress daily as the project is constructed.
 
 
I-75

HAMILTON COUNTY, design-build project from I-75 Enterprise South interchange to SR-317 (Apison Pike) at Old Lee Hwy.: The contractor is clearing and performing grading operations to begin work on the bridge to connect the interchange at Exit 9 to SR-317 at Old Lee Hwy. Estimated completion date is January 2012. 
 
LOUDON COUNTY, I-75 North at Mile Marker 73.6: On Thursday night, March 3, 2011, motorists should be alert for a lane closure between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning as crews perform cable barrier repairs. Motorists should expect potential delays and use caution traveling through this area.

GREENE COUNTY, I-81 North and South between Mile Markers 36 and 54: Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures through this resurfacing project on Sunday nights through Thursday nights between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning. Motorists should be alert for equipment and workers present, expect potential delays and use caution in this area.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, I-81 North and South between Mile Markers 50 and 54: Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures through this resurfacing project on Sunday nights through Thursday nights between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning. Motorists should be alert for equipment and workers present, expect potential delays and use caution in this area.

 
Motorists are encouraged to use caution and obey reduced speed limits in all TDOT work zones, regardless of lane closure activity.
