TULLAHOMA, Tenn. - The Department of Correction will conduct an emergency management exercise at the Tennessee Correction Academy (TCA) in Tullahoma on Wednesday, May 7.

The exercise will run from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Wednesday. The public may notice brief interruptions to traffic flow, and emergency vehicles will be traveling in the area around TCA. The TCA facility is located at 1314 South Jackson Street.

“Exercises such as this are designed to validate emergency planning,” said Commissioner George Little. “First responders use these plans to make the right decisions in a short amount of time when public safety is at stake.”

Wednesday’s drill will be a simulated incident on TCA’s campus. First responders from the Tullahoma Police and Fire departments, Franklin and Moore County Sheriff’s department, Horton Regional Hospital, the American Red Cross and the Coffee County Emergency Management Agency will participate in the exercise.

The TCA facility is required to have an emergency operations plan in place and conduct annual exercises.
