A VENUE SURROUNDED BY ART & HISTORY
The Tennessee State Museum is conveniently located in downtown Nashville in the Polk Cultural Center (the same building which houses the Tennessee Performing Art Center) at 5th Avenue and Deaderick Street. The museum is considered to be Tennessee’s version of a Smithsonian Institution. With its large collection of objects, furniture, paintings and textiles, the museum is a showcase for the Volunteer State's rich history. The museum’s Changing Galleries offers temporary exhibits on history, art, and culture related to Tennessee and its people.
SPACE TO SUITE YOUR EVENT
Both the museum’s atmosphere and exhibitions offer unique surroundings and options for a range of events from meetings to cocktail receptions, banquets, private dinners, wedding receptions, multi-media presentations, lecture series, film screenings and musical performances. Our event staff will work with your organization to create a memorable event.
Events must occur after the normal museum operating hours of 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday thru Saturday, and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday because the museum is closed to the public on Monday. The space is available for events during the day and evening.
Event costs are determined by specified location, number of guests, use of galleries and exhibit areas, required museum staff, security, and housekeeping services.
