APHL -CDC Fellowship and Internship Opportunities
APHL and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) partner to offer a variety of laboratory fellowship programs to train and prepare scientists for careers in public health laboratories and support public health initiatives. As a recipient of American Rescue Plan funding, APHL is expanding its current fellowship program offerings and recruiting for two classes of fellows in 2022—with assignments beginning in January 2022 and Summer 2022—and adding a new Internship Initiative, which will begin assignments in Fall 2022.
Programs currently accepting applications include: Bioinformatics, Biorisk Management, Environmental Health, Food Safety, Infectious Disease, Informatics, Quality Management, and Newborn Screening. Applications for summer of 2022 are due no later than February 28, 2022 at 11:59pm (ET).

Laboratory Internships
Short-term summer projects are occasionally available with Laboratory Services. The projects may be based in the clinical microbiology or environmental laboratory. Specific requirements in coursework and skill vary from project to project. Opportunities are posted as available.
