Vicky Goodin has more than 25 years of experience in printing and media, including: 10 years proofreading, ad design and production management for a newspaper chain; two years writing radio commercials; one year in customer service for an advertising agency; one year in production management for a marketing company; and 14 years in marketing and management for a commercial printer. She has an MBA from Tennessee State University, and is a member of the Tennessee Government Management Institute class of 2009.
Don Conner joined us in June 2013 after a 37-year career in the newspaper industry during which he held positions in Accounting, Human Resources, Circulation and Advertising management, Marketing, and General Management. Don is a native of Alabama and attended the University of Alabama and Patterson Technical College where he earned an Associate Degree in Accounting. Don also served in the U.S. Army for two and one half years in the Finance and Accounting Corp. He and his wife, Mary, have one daughter and two grandchildren.
Stacey Hooper came to the State in February 2006 with an extensive background in warehousing and distribution, specializing in controlled inventory management. Relying on her 20 years of operational experience, she oversees all aspects of the state¹s central warehousing/distribution facility, which she directed the institution of by centralizing warehousing at a statewide level. During her career, Stacey has been instrumental in the reorganization of multiple distribution centers, up to 400,000 square feet, and has received several certifications in handling specialized inventory, such as the Schedule II Certification achieved by the United States Drug Enforcement Agency, as well as certification from the Centers for Disease Control for the Strategic National Stockpile Preparedness course.
Stacey has served on the Strategic National Stockpile Cities Readiness Initiative Advisory Committee, and is an alumnus of the Tennessee Government Executive Institute.
Jed Dekalb, Chief State Photographer, has photographed Tennessee for more than 30 years. He has a degree in Marketing from the University of Tennessee. After graduating from UT, he worked for newspapers before taking a position as State Photographer II under the Alexander administration. He has covered all aspects of the McWherter, Sundquist and Bredesen administrations. Along with winning numerous awards over the years, Jed has published work in People, Southern Living, The Chicago Tribune, Ford Times and American Airlines - American Way, and he even photographed ZZ Top for their album Fandango!
Data Print Center
Theresa Hicks has managed the Data Print Center for more than 30 years. She attended Nashville Tech and then joined the Air National Guard, where she served for four years in telecommunications. She began working for the State with the Tennessee Mental Health Department, then moved to Finance and Administration, Office of Information Resources. She started as a computer operator and quickly worked her way up to management. When the Data Print Center operations were transferred to the Department of General Services in 2013, Theresa decided to continue as Production Manager. She was born and raised in Nashville. Theresa is married to Mike and has three sons.
Offset and Digital Print
Bret Hulet joined us in November 2010, took another job for two years, and has returned. As Production Manager, he oversees our digital and offset print production, the bindery department, and warehouse operations. Bret has more than 18 years of printing experience, starting as a press apprentice for Madison News Inc in Indiana, moving to Iowa to be lead press operator with CNHI, then transferring to Port Arthur, Texas, to become the Press and Production Facility Manager. He left the newspaper in 2005 to become the Production Manager for Hawthorne Printing in Beaumont, Texas. While there, he managed offset and digital printing operations, bindery department, creative services and outside sales. Bret hails from Greentown, Indiana, and currently resides in South Nashville with his wife, Lori.
Customer Service Manager
Lindy Wyant joined our team in February 2017 as our Customer Service Manager. Lindy has more than 25 years of experience in the printing industry. She started her career typesetting yellow page ads, and later moved into distribution, management, marketing and sales. Lindy has experience with various printing processes and enjoys helping customers bring their visions to print!
Rick Johnson joined us in December 2011 as a Graphic Designer and was recently promoted to Production Manager for the Digital Imaging area, where he oversees three graphic designers, three prepress employees and our document scanning area, which now includes eight employees. A native of East Tennessee and graduate of University of Tennessee Knoxville, Rick has worked as a designer for point-of-purchase display advertising and artwork for the corrugated packaging industry. He moved to Middle Tennessee in 1994 to work as a graphic designer at the Tennessean, and in 1999 took a new position as Art Director/Production Director of Murfreesboro Magazine and Nashville Lifestyles Magazine, where he stayed for 11 years.
