CollegeforTN.org is a comprehensive college planning tool that allows you to work with all of your students to plan their journey to college and then career. You can communicate directly with your students through the site and track their progress to college. Provided by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission, CollegeforTN.org can help you increase your capacity and serve even more students.
Registration is open for the 2018-2019 school year! Register by August 17th to receive free college and career oriented posters, stickers, and implementation guides. Schools and education organizations are invited to participate in Tennessee's Path to College events. A suite of 4 events held throughout the school year, Path to College events are designed to expand a college-going culture in your school and to build excitement about the college-going process from kindergarten to senior year.
College Application and Exploration Week
Scheduled for September 17-21, 2018, the goal of the event is to build excitement and knowledge around the college application process at all grade-levels and provide every graduating senior with an opportunity to apply to college.
TN FAFSA Frenzy
Created with the goal of increasing state-wide FAFSA-filing rates, TN FAFSA Frenzy is a statewide campaign to encourage and support seniors filing their Free Applications for Federal Student Aid applications. At elementary and middle schools, students can participate in TN FAFSA Frenzy by exploring financial literacy concepts and the basics of financial aid on CollegeforTN.org.
College and Career Planning
Originally designed for high school juniors and their parents, the after-school event provides crucial information about college search, applications, and financial aid processes. For younger students and parents, college planning includes resources for career exploration and planning for the student’s future.
College Signing Day
A school-wide celebration recognizes and commends seniors in the community who have committed to enroll in some form of post-secondary education. Elementary and middle schools can get involved by joining in the high school celebrations or signing graduation pledges of their own.
The resources section includes a page with links to multiple college-going resources, such as Federal Student Aid, Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation, CollegeforTN.org, and many more. The section also includes an extensive set of worksheets, handouts, and other tools that you can provide to students and parents considering and/or preparing for college.
