Imagine A Day Without Water - Student Contests
Art Contest
(K – 5th Grade Students)
The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation and The Nature Conservancy of Tennessee invites all K-5 students across the state of Tennessee to join us in the Imagine a Day Without Water Art Contest.
The Imagine a Day Without Water campaign is hosted by the Value of Water Campaign and Tennessee H2O and is celebrated each year to bring attention to the importance of maintaining and building water systems that support our daily lives as residents of Tennessee.
Students are invited to imagine what one single day in their life would look like without any water. Let’s face it…it’s easy to take water and wastewater systems for granted until we really think about what our lives would look like without them.
Could you go a day without water? No water to drink, brush your teeth, or flush the toilet. Pools would be empty, bathtubs would be dry and aquariums would be shuttered. Firefighters couldn’t put out fires, doctors couldn’t scrub their hands, and farmers couldn’t water their crops.
So what would a day without water look like for you, your family and friends?
To enter the contest, draw or write 3 things you do every day with water. Now flip your paper over and draw what your day would look like if you have no access to water.
